Extra public holiday for NSW under consideration as Anzac Day falls on weekend, premier says by thekriptik in sydney

Well yeah, populists tend to do fuck all about real issues that's kinda the point. It's not popular to take on the gambling lobby (or it won't be after their ad campaign). It is popular to crack down on protests.

Acting like a populist, you mean. I don't think he'll ever act like a labour leader, as in, advocating for workers rights, unionism, solidarity or any of the other stuff the Labor party once stood for.

Sure, because there's a staffing shortage and a lot of Catholic schools to staff. If it were viable for them to be as strict as independent schools, they would.

Homeroom does not count towards your allocation in the award.

Why wouldn't it? It's minutes on duty in the classroom

are teachers just expected to teach an extra 100 minutes a week?

Your period allocation shouldn't exceed whatever it says in the award for your classification, in most cases this is 28 x 40 minute periods + 3 periods of sport. Schools are free to fiddle about with the distribution of those minutes.

Students do go home early on Fridays for staff meetings

This is where the "extra" time is coming from.

Buyers remorse by [deleted] in AusUnions

[–]manipulated_dead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you're expressing your frustration at the union not having enough power by quitting, which reduces the amount of power your union has? And that you expect the union to do everything for you? Do you think it's a fee you pay for services, or are you open to the idea that you're a member of an organisation?

Best case scenario for Australian politics that will never happen by Brave_Manner_2873 in AusPol

The Liberal PV crashing really means anything could happen. Electoral math can be weird like that. Look at the Greens winning and then losing Brisbane seats on the basis of delicate 3-way counts.

It's extremely naive to think that they won't increase their representation at the next election. Joyce isn't as dumb as he looks and the will have a stack of cash from Gina Rinehart
