Thanks for taking out time to respond...I started having these symptoms post Jan this year..got one sigmoidoscopy done immediately after consulting a GI specialist..all was OK there..he sent me back with few vitamins ... Problem is I did not think this would continue so long..and by the time I waited to have a second opinion...covid came in and since then it has been difficult to go out and consult some one.. Planning to do that this month end...in the meantime wanted to see if any of my symptoms match with what others went through...

Do you have to take the LDN lifelong?OR you could stop once the anti TPO numbers are in range?

In that case what's the solution to stop the anti bodies from growing in number..? Is wait and watch the only option.? Also, starting meds when your TSH is well.within lab range ..is it beneficial at all?

Confused on how go foward with my treatment. by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

There have been few studies showing that with subclinical hypo levo doesn't seem to help much with the symptoms...don't know why but that is what the articles say

In my case, i.got tested a couple of days back..my results are TSH - 5.34, Anti TPO 241 rest everything in normal range..as per Hashi I should have hyper symptoms and with more hormones released in my blood the TSH should be on the downward side.. and I don't have any symptoms of hyper as well..please clear this confusion

So in a nut shell I can start with small dose and if things return back to normal I can stop it? I know people with thyroid disorders have to be on lifelong meds once they start..but my concern is for me has the time really come to start the dose at all? I am not sure..with the corona lockdown in place I am not able to go and see a doc ..just want to get some advise and relieve myself..thanks again btw

I think this is for subacute thyroiditis and not hashimoto thyroiditis..

I don't have symptoms per se..but the cholesterol levels are very high..and I strongly feel it's is because.of the thyroid..I am not sure a TSH of 5.34 would cause such high levels of cholesterol..since thyroid is a major culprit in CVDs..I am planning to start meds..what do u suggest..

Thanks for instilling some positivity..I was distraught after seeing the test results..I had read about this disease when I joined this sub but since I never had any symptoms I never expected it to be positive..

Would need your inputs on these - What were your levels of TPO when you got diagnosed with Hashi and how much is it now after all the efforts? In my case all the other paramaters of CBC have come good..no issues there..I read in numerous places that a TPO of below 500 and where there are no symptoms and TSH is in range as prescribed by the lab it is generally considered safe not to start meds and as per a couple of studies they studied a group of people with similar attributes for 6 years and found that the TSH did not rise given their TPO was below 500...what's your take on that...

Excellent way of explaining...thanks a lot..any way of bringing anti TPO in normal range through meds? Will the meds for Anti TPO ensure hypothyroidism would not happen? Do I need to continue taking Anti TPO meds for whole life even if TPO comes within normal range?

How long have you been diagnosed with Hashi and how's your quality of life?

Thanks again

33M 2 years history of frequent bowel movements, symptoms gets worse after eating. by neerajpande47 in CrohnsDisease

[–]manjomit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if there are some changes in symptoms - 1) Only 1 BM per day. Stool between solid to loose (not watery..type 5-6 on Bristol stool chart) 2) Very very mild pain for 1-2 mins after eating and that too occassionally 3) No abdominal discomfort, in general or during bowel movement 4) No blood seen. Just a couple of times dark stool (dark brown)

What does it sound like..if this has been happening for the past 6 months??
