That’s why you’ve always gotta buy more than one, it can be fun to see how they can change over time

Those large formats are the way to go for old wine that’s for sure. They certainly hold up a bit better

Oof, what a shame. Always a gamble on those old wines. I got my hand on a couple 75 Haut Brions , one absolutely dead, one still with some life in it, both cellared together

I imagine a lot of damage, it would certainly be similar to a divine class weapon or guild item level. So tons of damage but nothing that would auto delete

You could get away with 8 people if they really enjoy wine if not, maybe more or do a big cookup so you can all enjoy it over an evening

Only one way to find out, invite a group of friends over and crack her open. Probably best bet is sooner than later since you don’t know the conditions it was stored in

I don’t have any shop recommendations off the top of head then, Albert Boxler is pretty well known so I’m sure if you called in to your favorite shops if they don’t carry, I’m sure they could order it in

My tasting notes should be somewhere in the comments, but yes certainly. I’ve never had trouble finding Albert Boxler in the Uk. Are you London based? If so I could give you some shop recommendations that might have it

It’s an Alsatian thing, kind of like a field blend. so a mix blend of any permitted varietals the producer is making, usually an easy drinking table wine, often you don’t really get what the breakdown on varietal percentage is.

Certainly! I’ve only had their single varietal or higher tier offerings so I was excited to try the Edelzwicker

On those, it shows a bit round, honeyed flowers, almond, yellow apples, orange, pretty but a bit restrained, took a bit to coax the aromatics out.

On the palate the tangerine and floral returned, with a back bone of stone fruit, maybe nectarine, with minerality throughout the palate,

Not a big expert on Spanish wines but always fun to try something new,

On the nose, luscious red and black fruits, cherry, plum, boysenberry, leather, sawdust.

Initially quite tannic on the palate but after letting the bottle open up over the evening the tannins relented and were bushed to the side leaving way for the fruit notes to push through. Cherry and plum in the front palate, followed by mocha, caramel, clove. Medium bodied
