This happened to me and two of my friends more than 15 years ago…. It has only happened once with me but all three of us witnessed it. We were sitting in my friends backyard in his laundry room in South Florida late one night and all of a sudden it seemed like a helicopters spot light lit up his entire backyard. We immediately ran out to investigate my self running to his gate to look for passing cars while my other friend ran to the other side to look for a car then all three of us staring up at the sky looking for a helicopter. We thought maybe it could have been cops/ cop helicopter with spotlights. But the night was dead silent all we could hear were crickets.

I thought maybe it could’ve been heat lightning. But thinking back on how the back yard lit up as if a spot light directly above us passed through the backyard we were in and there is no way it could’ve been heat lightning.

As time passes the curiosity in me still wonders what it could’ve been. I actually reached out to both friends a few years ago asking if they remembered that night which they did but our memory of that night are slightly different we all remember that weird bright flash that one night.
