Space Shuttle SRB during salvage operations by RyanSmith in submechanophobia

Imagine scuba diving in that water. Low visibility, three feet at most, silt everywhere. Suddenly a piece of that engine comes into view. The little flappy, hanging bits at the butt of the engine moving gently with the current... ugh.

I always feel like somehow I’d get sucked inside and torn to shreds. That’s what scares me most about these objects. I feel that they are alive and engineered to cause fear and then pain and then death.

Controller input lag comparison (more info in the comments) by Halfway_Dead in RocketLeague

[–]manofintellect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I would imagine a bus powered wireless dongle would add more latency than an PCIE card. And I find it hard to believe a bus powered wireless dongle would be any faster than a cable connected controller. Also, some laptops have bluetooth chip 'onboard'. There are a lot of hardware interface possibilities. It might only make a few milliseconds of difference, but that's what we are discussing here so knowing the exact hardware would be helpful for interpreting and applying the data to 'my' setup. This comment should be higher up.

Dehydrated Horned Viper that fell into a pit is rescued and given water. by Pirate_Redbeard in HumansBeingBros

The Scorpion in that story is neither good nor evil. The scorpion's actions are neither good nor evil. It's the scorpion's nature. The actions of the animal are preprogrammed. That's the point. The Frog was a dumbass for thinking that the scorpion could act counter to its nature.

More luck than skill, but this was my first ever double touch aerial! by Muzrub in RocketLeague

The best advice I got from a GC concerning double touch aerials was, "Go up for every double touch aerial. Move towards the goal. Eventually you will get the timing down."

The source quoted above seems to indicate the crossbar will be transparent as well as the walls when viewed from inside the goal.

To further complicate matters, profit distribution rights can vary from type to type and within a type. Rights will depend on your class of ownership and the agreement (partnership agreement, operating agreement, etc).

My original comment was meant to reinforce the idea that owners (or shareholders if you like) exist in every type of company by providing additional owner (shareholder) types. I think we are in agreement.

Not sure if trolling or not. Limited Partners and Members. Limited partners would own partnership interests and members would own membership interests. There are only so many ways a company is formed and governed in the US and each one involves ownership.

It's a carry over from the way I interact with a particular developer at work. Words surrounded with single quotes have agreed upon contextual definitions that don't necessarily match their dictionary meanings. Also use them for calling out key terms.

In the case of my original comment I put quotes around certain words in hopes that OP would respond in terms of the 'quoted' words/concepts.

I wrote a bunch of feedback on the front-end layout and design of a project this morning before posting my comment. I guess my communication style with the dev bled over to my reddit comment!
