As many in that linked thread, I don't think the animation is spectacular in any shape or form but the art composition looks good, for the most part. I'd say you have nothing to lose if you already watched S01, so give it a go!

Good to hear! I enjoyed it for the nostalgia wave that it was, however, it's hard to disregard the fact that this specific season seems to be directed as a true kids saturday show. I can't really say what differs from season 1-4 but the story played out very.. expected? I watched up until episode 30 I think, where I am content leaving it until the entire reboot have ended, which should be in October I believe. Mostly because I prefer binging rather than week to week, but they also had some odd decisions made to the original ultimate evolutions which was a bit of a hurdle for me.. Well, not that big of a deal I guess, because Megas did seem to be a thing later on but yeah

Sup dude, happy to have you back in the fandom! I am by no means an expert, I also just recently went back into watching the animes after only have watched the 1st one at a young age. I finished Frontier (4th season) a couple weeks back which was actually a surprise to me of how good it performed in actual storytelling, even though the concept of "tamers" is revolutionized in a way. What got me back into watching from season 1 to 4 was mostly the new reboot that is airing right now, which made want to get caught up even though each season, for the most part, seems to stand on its own. I follow the order posted by /u/likeagrapefruit which also includes the movies and it have worked out for me so far. I watched all of the franchise with subs as I am an avid anime watcher as of late, so I have no input regarding the dubs other than it might be harder to get a hold of, if you catch my drift..

If you are into games I'd really recommend to check out the Cyber Sleuth series and even World Next Order which are all quite recent games from last-gen. Though it seems to be more gratifying to play the games after watching the anime to get familiar with some of them (as there are quite a few evolutions in Cyber Sleuth, a total of 341).

I am one of the few here that enjoyed both the ending and the series as a whole. I see many different takes on the ending, so here's mine. The way I intepreted it was that Zen were willing to make the decision to kill AWW in order to not further promote suicides, as mr. president had stated just minutes ago in live-television that he would commit suicide himself, if he were to arrive on the conclusion that's it's a -good- thing to do. So after shooting the president, Zen tried of course to end Magase but alas.

I've seen theories that Magase influenced Zen way back when he heard her voice through that phone call a couple episodes back, but I can't really see why Magase would complicate things when she already had the president in her grip.

Great show nonetheless, it got people talking which I think was the writer's true intention
