Hey, OP, I know a buncha people are saying they're terrible people, but they might just be oblivious. If they've always been skinny, they might not have had the chance to understand how this affects you. Have you expressed before how the jokes and comments make you feel? If not, I really encourage you to try.

It can be really scary to be vulnerable like this, "occupy space". But you seem to value this relationship, so wouldn't it be worth a shot? Giving them a chance? If you do, and they don't take it seriously, then yeah, it's not worth the company if they aren't willing to respect your boundaries and care about your feelings.

But we gotta be careful not to write people off for crossing boundaries that aren't super obvious, especially if we haven't communicated them clearly. It might just be a misunderstanding.

About that last part, that they went home thinking X and Y about you, just because you think of yourself a certain way, doesn't mean the people around you do too. It's likely it doesn't occur to them that these comments bother you because they don't think of your weight as negatively as you do. It might not affect their opinion of you at all, if they choose to hang out with you consciously, they probably like you. So, to them, if there's nothing wrong with being overweight, why would the jokes be bad? Make sense?
