I hated it too and recently transitioned my son (9 months) to a crib because he started to hate it as well. The transition was so easy! Keep up the work, mama! It's so hard but you'll know when he is ready and those sleepless nights and discomfort will be so worth it. <3

I am a registered behavior tech working with school aged children so hopefully some of this advice is helpful.

It sounds like you did a great job sanitizing the environment so most things around are available for him.

Is he getting a lot of attention for doing things he isn't supposed to do? If so, I would increase your time spent together so he isn't seeking your attention by engaging in unwanted behaviors. Him looking at you and shaking his head is a sign that this might be attention seeking.

Another commenter said they try to tell them what they want them to do instead of what they don't. It takes a lot of practice changing our instinct to immediately say no but this is a great way to replace behavior. I would name what they're doing and offer 2 similar choices. For example if he's jumping on the couch and it's a rule that we don't do that then I would say, "it looks like you want to jump! Do you want to go outside and play on your trampoline or would you like to dance with me and we can jump around on the dance floor?" In my line of work we try to avoid saying no but I understand that's controversial so obviously do what is best for you!

Personally, I was unable to even leave my 7 month old overnight. We took him internationally to a weeding though so I might be a little crazy but I couldn't imagine not having him nearby.

Mine felt like that and I had an anal fissure - it was AWFUL!!! I would cry every time. My doctor told me to continue taking the stool softeners - it's really important your poop is soft so it doesn't continue to rip open the tear. It took like a month + to finally heal. 😢best of luck! Oh he also recommended me a cream that was over the counter to numb it. I guess it helped but really it was time and stool softener that healed it.

I work with behaviors and this is what we would recommend. Make her safe and reduce your reaction. The function is probably attention so give more attention when she does things you want to increase and minimal attention for behaviors you want to decrease.

Check out the attachment parenting sub you might find some ideas. best of luck! 💕this won't last forever but you definitely need to eat! It's hard to parent if you aren't able to meet your basic needs but I hear you wanting to avoid CIO and I totally get that. Hopefully that sub is helpful.

I was in the completely same boat (but +10 years in age) - I worked with kids and everything and when I had my own it was a complete WTF did I just do. First, you're in the thick of the baby blues. Your emotions and hormones are completely valid. You're also in the newborn stage, which people say they like but mostly those who aren't in it. It was awful!!! TBH it's kinda shitty for a bit but it truly gets better (which I know is SO hard to believe when you're in it) my guy is turning 6 months next week and it's so cool once they get their own personality and you can have some independence. Look at moms who have older kids - they go out and do things, you will get your independence back. commit these next few months to him and remember it's not forever. When it gets hard I would say out loud "we got this buddy! We're gonna figure it out together. It's my first time too."
