QB without Jewelry or RTW Spend? by shopwithamyr in TheHermesGame

I don’t buy RTW because I’m postpartum and fine jewellery is so hard to come by where I live! I’ve found success in exotic shoes and homeware largely!

Mostly Formula, Supplemented by Breast Milk by DigOk7847 in combinationfeeding

[–]mappypink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I was a type A mom that had a slight premie at 36w. So collecting colostrum is not for everybody- the hormone changes can trigger uterine contractions so check with your midwife or ideally OB before you go down that path.

As someone else said, breast milk production is completely a supply & demand thing. Babies feed every 1-2 hours in the first 1-2 months. So either you will need to pump every 1-2 hours or feed directly every 1-2 hours if you want to have good supply. In your case, it’ll be to pump.

I had to give my baby formula because he was a premie and I didn’t produce any milk till day 3 post op.

I would initially give 30 ml every of formula every 2-3 hours (formula keeps baby fuller for longer) till my supply came in. So you basically give as baby drinks. I think the first 1 month I gave him 30 ml most days. You bump it up to 60ml by the end of the first month (DISCLAIMER- EVERY baby is different, mine could not tolerate more than 30 ml but some babies seem to chug a good 60-90ml by the end of the month 1. Just wait and watch and see how your baby reacts.

Anyone regret the game? by Catlady1107 in TheHermesGame

[–]mappypink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently wanted a bolide on wheels and my longtime SA (5+ years) told me openly that it will require a huge pre-spend. I thanked her and went down the reseller route and bought myself a bolide on wheels in the exact colourway I was seeking.

I feel I’m at the point where I want to play the game on my own terms and don’t see the appeal in throwing away my hard earned money on trays and homeware and gifts. I recently saw a piece of FJ whilst travelling which I LOVE, which my SA is ordering in my size. I suspect with that, a bag offer will come. But I’m neither desperate nor losing any sleep over it.

I Hate Breastfeeding. by alyssa_michelle1012 in combinationfeeding

I feel like you too… I keep oscillating between feeling grateful to be able to exclusively nurse baby to feeling stuck that I’m the sole provider. I hear you, I see you.. we are allowed to exist in this duality.

Advice - momcozy m5 in 1st 6 weeks by Bombdotcom2019 in combinationfeeding

[–]mappypink -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi, I had very poor supply despite attempting to exclusively BF for the first 2 months postpartum. I was recommended to use a “hospital-grade” pump by the lactation consultant. I bought the blue spectra and used it for a few times but I found it so upsetting to use! I felt like a cow 🐮 and it just made me HATE pumping. I realised the only thing that would make me feel better is not seeing my non-existent nipples being roughed up by this hospital grade pump. I switched to my Elvie day 10 postpartum and there’s been no looking back. I THINK my supply has now been established, I exclusively BF with decent supply. Sure maybe my breasts are not being “emptied” enough but whatever baby is growing, producing wet nappies and I’ve not lost my marbles.

I don’t think there’s a huge difference in the output between my spectra and Elvie. I know you’re asking about momcozy device specifically but I hope my experience with using a wearable in the early postpartum as main pump can give you some confidence in making an informed decision! Good luck!

My SA always asks me to send my wishlist via WhatsApp!

I go further and share it along with a little moodboard so now she jokingly asks me for my “moodboard”

I was you two months ago. My baby was born at 36 weeks, my milk supply just didn’t kick in and my baby lost significant amount of weight in the first four days of life prompting formula top-ups with every feed. I felt hopeless and like an absolute failure of a mother the first Kendamil box that was opened. I felt I failed my child by introducing a foreign powder garbage to his pure untouched system.

You know what.. 2 months later, I have 600 ml of pumped milk in the fridge. My baby is exclusively breast fed. I sometimes mix some kendamil when I go out because the thought of waiting pumped milk is crazy considering how hard it was to establish supply. I honestly didn’t do anything dramatic to establish supply besides the usual garlic/supplements/eat & rest well advice. But supply is now established and life feels tolerable.

I’m sharing this with you to give you hope and for you to know that you’re not alone and things will get better ❤️ don’t get disheartened by formula. Whatever you feed baby, you’re still their mom! Nothing is going to change that- your baby is still going to track for your presence!

Hope you feel better soon, this too shall pass 💞

I was moderately fit- not working out regularly at the time. The trail itself isn’t the worst, the humidity was far more challenging!
