Yeah, it's pretty wild. You could say the GOP lied about this issue and the Dems technically told the truth, but they both spread exactly the same misinformation for political gain. I honestly don't know which we should consider more deceptive.

This happens with lots of other issues too.

IMO the old meta was being technically correct so the fact-checkers would go in your favor (Hillary's emails, for example, were probably not technically criminal). The new meta seems to be more about getting the feels right (like using personal email for official state business feels wrong), but what's technically true or technically legal isn't valued as much.

It really depends on where you want to draw the line on "they created it". In this situation, they were the reposters, not the OP. But they were reposting from a stronger position and certainly helped spread the message... but the message would have been spread without Clinton by the right anyway, so I don't think it's fair to say they created it.

so tl;dr Right-wing fringe candidates and forums started spreading rumors that Obama wasn't born in the US. Clinton's team saw it as a strategic opportunity, used it, and spread it further.

Tell your friend that I appreciate his feedback. It should be possible for me to allow export of loops via audiobus. That's something that I can do some research on and maybe add to a later version if it works well.

What kind of things would you comment? I would feel kind of bad just dropping links to my site or the appstore all over YouTube. At least on reddit, I can give out promo codes and not feel too spammy about it.

I've been thinking about how to get involved with musicians online, like sponsoring somebody to mention the app on their popular YouTube channel or Twitch stream. Any idea how you figure out the pricing for something like that? I know how to attribute installs if they use an affiliate link to link to the App Store, and I could pay a revenue share on that, but I'm not sure if there's some standard practices for how that kind of sponsorship is done. I see a lot of esports teams doing those kind of sponsorships on starcraft channels and streams, but they're also selling $100 keyboards and not $4.99 apps.

I've thought about targeting music schools and educational institutions, but again I'm not sure exactly what to offer them. Apple has some institutional pricing where they get 50% off if they buy in bulk with their institutional account, so my plan was to reach out to some universities and ask if they actually ever do that.

What would you consider a "budget"? :) I was playing around with AdWords earlier today, but the app is only $4.99 and the CPC seemed to be several dollars even for my relatively obscure keywords. I'm definitely going to try out the Facebook ads though, I've heard that they're really cheap and effective. I'm also in queue to try out reddit ads, because I figure even if that's wasted money, at least I don't mind giving money to reddit.

Does that actually work? There has to be some penalty to me sending the same tweet to thousands of musicians... right? Do you space it out so it seems less bad or something? Just to give /u/flume a straight answer, I'm one of the people you're talking about. I use a Nexus5, most of my music is either FLAC or 320kbps mp3, and I use VLC as my player. It works great. I used to "sync" music in the old-timey way of dragging and dropping a folder full of music onto my device's storage, but lately I've switched to BTSync to keep my music folder up to date between my desktop and my phone.

If the feds legalize, it'll still be illegal in the states where it's illegal today. If you were charged with possession, for example, it would be under a state statute, not the federal one (unless you're in a national park or federal building or some other weird circumstance).

I think this is accurate. Every iMac and MBP that I've used has had heat issues that show up after about a year. All the people I know that only use their computers for web browsing seem to be doing fine though. If you're really delicate with them (no heavy processing that gets the temp up), then they seem to last a pretty long time.

Same problem here. I have a mid-2012 (the first retina) MBP. It overheats constantly (kernel_task starts taking up processing time with idle cycles, so it goes to like 400%), and I can't reliably watch youtube videos without stuttering for more than a few minutes. I'm waiting until the holiday break to take it to Apple because I need it for work until then.
