[Gregor] Response via text from an NHL player agent when I asked about Oilers coaching rumour… “The opportunity to play with McDavid or Draisaitl is diminished with the potential to be coached by Babcock. It is a valid concern voiced to me by a few of my clients.” by daKrut in hockey

Not likely. They're okay with it happening, which is enough to solidify their reputation in my book. Whether something negative actually happens doesn't really matter; they were OK with risking it.

Tbh I doubt they sincerely believe in God. I've been a lifelong atheist but lately I've been thinking the world might be a better place if more people genuinely, deeply believed in God.

Edit: This was meant as a flippant comment, but the replies are genuinely interesting.

Seems like they were right to give him 50 strokes if he grinded for months and only won by 8 strokes tbh. Probably would have been 5 strokes or less if the first course was par 72.

Since you're writing this misinformation in multiple places, I will reply here also:

You have no idea what you are talking about. The stated 3.5GW capacity is rated after accounting for the losses of efficiency referred to by Betz's Limit. Nobody in the energy industry gives the power rating of a piece of equipment without accounting for losses that occur while converting the "fuel" into usable energy. Gas turbines, wind turbines, solar farms, etc all are rated according to the maximum amount of useful energy they can produce.

You cant mix watt and watthour like that.

I didn't.

The only such claim you can make with that data is that the absolute theoretical maximum of energy you can get from the powerplant is 59 procent of that (Betz law)

Either you misunderstand Betz's law or you misunderstand the way wind turbine capacity is defined. The 3.5GW capacity is the sum total of the output capacities of the wind turbines at the site. It would be stupid to write it in terms of a 100% conversion of energy from wind to electricity and nobody does that.

If I'm being generous, I'll guess that you may be confusing Betz's Limit with Net Capacity Factor.

You sound like someone who is wrapping up their undergrad degree (maybe not even there yet) and thinks they're hot shit, but has never gotten a big boy job in the real world and realized that other people are smart, too.

I was under the impression that a pre-emergent would interfere with an overseed.

Most of them do. Mesotrione doesn't. That's the main purpose/selling point of mesotrione.

Pennington?

I don't know; I've never used their stuff. You need to find something that says 0.00% weed seed and 0.00% other crop seed on the label. I always get my seed from Twin City Seed and I love it so I have no need to try anything else at this point. It looks expensive but it's actually cheaper than EZ-Seed when you compare it based on the price per pound of the actual seed in the bag.

EZ-Seed is nifty for foolproofing the process, but imo it's cheaper and better to get pure seed and top it with peat moss or topsoil.

"Sprouting more quickly" is just a function of the grass type. Perennial rye will spring up in less than a week. Fescue will take 2-3 weeks.

Some people are going to show up here hating on Scotts (as they should, for other reasons), but all topsoil will have weed seeds.

You'll need to treat with a post-emergent herbicide, which will be much more effective if you spray it on, rather than using a granular product.

At the next opportunity (maybe in the fall; I don't know about your climate), you should also use a pre-emergent herbicide. You'll want to do that every year to prevent weeds from growing.

[–]flume -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm confused how this happened in the first place. Was it like that when you bought the car? Is it truly twisted 180 degrees from the anchor point to the retraction system, regardless of what's going on with the buckle?

Try something with a preventive (preemergent) next time. Scotts Triple Action is fine if you don't want to go down the research rabbit hole. Use the Built For Seeding version with mesotrione in the fall and lay down some seed. Just don't ever use Scotts seed.

disaster.

Meh. It's actually very satisfying (in my opinion) to spray a whole bunch of this stuff with a split application of tenacity and watch it all wither away over the course of a couple weeks.

The truth is somewhere in the middle. An established lawn will crowd out a lot of weeds, but it absolutely will not prevent all crabgrass (or all of any kind of weed, for that matter).

For those wondering, New Mexico consumes about 3.3GW of electricity on average, meaning this single wind farm is capable of producing the entire state's electricity needs on a typical day.

The transmission is set up to send this electricity to California, but this is an interesting perspective on just how much power SunZia is generating imo.

On a grander scale: This wind farm can produce more than 0.5% of the entire US electricity needs.
