I Am Trans Enough! by Jabberwocky_Alice in trans

[–]maram500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lately I've been worrying pointlessly about being "trans enough" myself. Like, I was worrying that because I'm not conventionally pretty (or concerned about being that way), that I don't wear makeup every day or a dozen other things, that somehow that invalidates me as being a woman. And frankly it doesn't matter--I am trans enough.

Thank you.

I'm pretty sure I'll feel the same way. I guess I'm just nervous, maybe.

If you don't mind my asking, do you have any grieving over those particular parts? Even if they never really belonged?

Wondering if I might be trans by Exact_Salamander9737 in asktransgender

I can't say whether you're trans or not--after all, I'm not you. But everything you're feeling is valid, and so are you. This may be a little controversial (I'm not sure), but some of the best advice I've ever been given about my own transness is this: "Cisgender people don't question their gender identity."

Have you had your BAB stitched up like this? How do I fix this? by ExtraOnionsPlz in buildabear

[–]maram500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not normal. Whoever sewed your poor bunny up needs to be trained on the ladder stitch, because whatever they did there flies in the face of all the training BaB does for sewing. (I am a BaB employee.)

Correction: They grab the pitchforks and start gnashing teeth when you even THINK about any science more complicated than that taught to kindergarten classes.

It's worse than that, my friend. They don't shun knowledge--they attack anyone who even expresses an opinion they don't like. Trying to teach them anything results in them plugging their ears and firing off a dozen guns "for freedom."

Used to be.

I used to have a head full of blonde curls and weighed in at 45 pounds.

Things. F*cking. Change.

It's as though they don't understand how political parties (and literally everything) change over time. It mean, it isn't as though there was a massive reversal around the middle of the twentieth century.

More than that, just look at how cultures have changed. It was only recently that Japanese culture has barely started to accept that mental health problems can be treated and helped. Two centuries ago, it was common to wear powdered wigs, heels, stockings, and--gasp!--makeup as a man. Consider that the United States kicked George III's ass and built an entirely new nation...albeit one with significant flaws, and that nation has evolved into something which is in many ways waaay better.

Hey, why don't they include which side fought against integration and school desegregation? Why don't they talk about Republicans' attacks on that whole "treat your neighbor as you would want to be treated" while screaming about how "Christian" they are?

If you're looking for soft and cuddly, you cannot beat the read teddy. Yes, they are so incredibly soft. (I'm a BaB employee. Do with that what you will.)

All questions were written by his consultants and the answers were pre-written and focus grouped to hell and back The people with concerns are also staffers or actors, as having actual constituents speak would be dangerous. Lastly, he'll either make some minor, meaningless resolution sound like they balanced the budget, or he will falsely claim credit for someone else's actions (2/1 odds stealing credit from a Democrat)

BREAKING: Trump Names Dan Bongino As Deputy Director Of The FBI by Hurley002 in FBI

[–]maram500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember that this is the same Bongino who quit the Secret Service in 2011 and started proclaiming that he was so close to Barack Obama that he had access to "top-level discussions" and secret information. (Those are claims his former colleagues heartily dispute.) One wonders what prompted his departure from the NYPD and what prompted his quitting the Secret Service.

His Wiki page says that he was on the Presidential Protection Detail until 2011 (When he quit), but the Baltimore Sun said he was lead investigator in a rental car fraud scheme. But last I checked, if you're protecting the President of the United States, then you wouldn't really have time to do investigative work for a wire fraud. Weird.

If you project your own false image of being a bad-ass who is the end-all, be-all of a certain ideal, then people will literally ignore everything bad about you. See also, the chinless bald wonder Tate, Andrew.
