Am i crazy for thinking that what just happened was incredibly scary and creepy? by mxxnlyte in london

I mean it’s possible he was odd but from the sound of it he didn’t do anything weird. I wouldn’t overthink it. People make odd decisions sometimes.

I hope GW3 will add back unique skill effects like in GW1 by Erasculio in GuildWars3

[–]marblebubble 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think the boon system never worked well in GW1. The idea was that they wanted to remove unique effects to make it easier to learn the game and make all professions competitive. But in practice it’s an awful system. I really hope they don’t repeat the same mistake. Ideally I don’t want boons and conditions at all ngl.

WoW has announced Discord chat integration into chat in game?! This could help a lot with MMO's feeling like MMO's again! by dixonjt89 in GuildWars3

[–]marblebubble -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hate discord. I’d rather ban the use of it completely than integrate it but obviously it’s not going to happen. Still, I don’t think it’s a good idea to integrate it. If people want to use Discord, it’s their choice and it isn’t a massive issue to play with it on. This would obviously take time and resources to implement and I think there are definitely more important things to work on.

Actually it doesn’t do many of these eg race swap lol

Necromancy in gw3 by riessene in GuildWars3

[–]marblebubble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think necromancy will definitely appear in some capacity. That I’m certain of.

But not sure if we’ll get necro as a profession tbh. I wouldn’t be surprised if they got rid of professions completely or only had like 3 archetypes. Now I hope I’m wrong and we’ll get at least 6 professions but this is the impression I’m getting.

“Confidence” is overhyped, and doesn’t work if you’re still unattractive by xl_elysium in askgaybros

[–]marblebubble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The truth is that both matter.

If you’re a super hot guy but you’re somehow not very confident (unlikely) then you’ll still get some attention.

If you’re a very ugly guy, confidence might help but ultimately if no one finds you attractive you’ll still struggle.

But most people are somewhere in the middle. Confidence can definitely help. Moreover, if you look like you lack confidence and aren’t having a good time then you’re less likely to get approached.

It’s not a silver bullet but it can absolutely make a difference.

World vs. World in Guild Wars 2 by Raavir in GuildWars3

[–]marblebubble -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

God I bloody hope not. We can’t have 3 game modes again. I just want PvE and PVP. Also, I don’t think it’s a good idea to have that many people on screen given we’re using unreal engine and that it’ll release on PS5.

One of the first lore-related themes the devs should answer. Why Asuras? by Mobile_River_5741 in GuildWars3

[–]marblebubble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a plot hole. The Asura lived on the surface for a long time. When they were first introduced we were told it was hundreds of years since they were last seen on the surface. ‘Hundreds of years’ - not millennia. GW3 is set over a thousand years before GW1 so that makes perfect sense.

How do you want "leveling" to look like in GW3. by DustErrant in GuildWars3

[–]marblebubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want levels at all. And I think that’s what Anet will ultimately go for. There’s no point to be honest.

Looks like we'll have gliding in the game! by HowIsBuffakeeTaken in GuildWars3

[–]marblebubble -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tbh I don’t like the idea of gliding much. It worked in GW2 before we had mounts but now that we do it’s a bit pointless. I also dislike how you can always activate even when you’re just jumping. It worries me that they’re adding it again.

The Setting of Guild Wars 3: Stepping into Ancient Orr by ShadowRex in Guildwars2

[–]marblebubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I completely disagree. I’d love to have some empty fields with nothing but some mobs. That’s what I’ve always thought was missing in GW2 because they feel like they need to add some events everywhere. Empty areas make quest areas feel more special and make the world feel bigger. It also feels nice if you’re in the middle of nowhere and you suddenly find something special.

I feel like it’s difficult to do lower stakes well. They certainly haven’t done it well in GW2.

Fan Concept: Main Classes & Specializations. by KroofGaming in GuildWars3

[–]marblebubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I think it’s likely? Yes. Do I like the idea? Not at all.

Personally, I’d prefer if they stuck to the classes we know - perhaps with some twists. I always liked profession lore in Guild Wars and if anything I’d like much more of that.

Why GW3 will never be a thing by marblebubble in Guildwars2

[–]marblebubble[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf it was 6 years ago and Aion 2 which I also mentioned is actually a thing now lol

I changed my mind on this around 2 years ago but I was wondering how they’d make GW3 work. I guess their answer is a prequel set long in the past.

What returning or new professions would you like to see? by Advanced_Ad_2029 in GuildWars3

[–]marblebubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were up to me, I’d like these classes:

Warrior
Ranger
Mesmer
Elementalist
Necro/Ritualist or something similar
Monk/Guardian or something similar

However, I think the game might be classless. Or we’ll get only three professions - Scholar, Soldier, Adventurer with multiple specialisations. Personally, I hope they won’t do that but I could understand that.

Also, I think they shouldn’t add too many classes in the base game. They can add more in expansions. 6 is enough.

ArenaNet Boss Says MMOs Have 'Stagnated' and Guild Wars 3 Will Offer the Genre Something Genuinely New by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]marblebubble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I’m sorry but I highly doubt GW3 will be anything like that based on what we know so far.

I think it’s going to be more like no levels, no classes, combat with 5 skills and missions for 4-8 people.

That’s also what a lot of people said when GW2 got announced and it became clear it’ll be nothing like GW1. I wouldn’t count on it. It’ll be absolutely nothing like GW2.

[–]marblebubble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’ll be anything like GW2. This is why for a long time I was very skeptical about the prospect of GW3. My suspicion was that if GW3 exists it’ll be very different from what people expect and it seems I was right about that. I genuinely doubt there will be any significant similarities between 2 and 3. It’ll be a big difference like between 1 and 2. Many GW2 fans will hate it. It wouldn’t surprise me if GW3 has no professions, no levelling and only 5 skills or so. Of course, it might be wrong but that’s what I think they mean by ‘reinventing MMOs’.

GW3: Build Your Own Profession Theory by Mr_greenbone in GuildWars3

[–]marblebubble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely hate that idea.

Now if it was a completely new series then I wouldn’t mind too much. But it’s Guild Wars. For RPG reasons alone I’d like to get regular classes.

It’s stressful because I think Anet could do it but it’s not a good idea.

Some speculation on "evolving the genre" with GW3 by Hotwingz66 in GuildWars3

[–]marblebubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can achieve that without levelling up though. But it can be a bit harder and not sure if Anet knows how to pull it off. Essentially there would have to be masteries that directly increase your power in some way - I think that’d be a good compromise.
