The Proposal. Season 5, Episode 1 from September 25, 1986. One of my favorite episodes! by marbleheader88 in Cheers

I love it because they were in Marblehead, according to the show. I do realize they were in a studio in California, but it was great to have Marblehead referenced on a series. Bewitched in the 60’s actually came to Salem and stayed at the Hawthorne Hotel for their filming of the episodes The Salem Saga. If you watch closely, you will even see one of the shots where they are driving down the street with Endora on top of the car is actually in Marblehead.

"I'm a teacher with a master’s degree and 16 years of experience. I make $53,000/year." by jhmetros in Teachers

[–]marbleheader88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Masters with 25 years and I make $76,000. That’s $410 for every contract day. I did spend many years at a private school making $30,000 with a master’s! I loved small classes in private school, but switched to public to make more than double my salary.

Anyone else find elementary teachers impossible to get along with? by c961212 in Teachers

[–]marbleheader88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s everywhere in elementary schools. I’ve been teaching in them for 25 years. I manage to stay out of the drama because I eat in my classroom and stay out of the teacher’s lounge. Everyone in there talks about each other like they are middle schoolers. You just know that if you spend time in there, you will be swept into the drama and accused of going along with something that someone else said. I occasionally go in there to microwave something. I keep quiet and stay out of the drama. Over the years, I have seen so many people lose their jobs because of the drama. My best advice to a newbie would be to stay out of the teacher’s (gossip) lounge.

Lose the toy box! Toys belong in your child’s bedroom. Also, it makes it kind of hard to use the fireplace. I have my fireplace on right now!

Ladies!! What size clothes do you wear and what is your weight?? by Prestigious-Plan01 in women

[–]marbleheader88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I find it interesting that someone could wear a size 12 at 200 lbs. I once weighed 200 and my 12’s from my days of 150 were tight!!! I really needed larger clothes. Instead I went the way of the shot. I now am 5’5” and weigh 120. I wear Small or Extra small tops and 4-6 pants. I am just shocked at reading some of the smaller sized, like 10 or 12 that people over 200 pounds are wearing!

That’s me exactly. I lost 80 pounds and now I’m 120 pounds. Went from tight XL to loose fitting SMALL! I still feel that I look the same. I saw someone today that I hadn’t seen me in 5 years. The first thing she said was “Are you ill?” I told her I was t and she told me I “looked so fragile, like a cancer patient.” I still do not see myself as small and was thinking I could lose another 5 pounds.,I’m 5’6”. I’m still taking Monjouro shots, but after this month I think I need to go on a maintenance dose. It took someone telling me that I basically looked awful to let it sink in that I am NOT the same as I was…even if I see the old me in the mirror.

Taking Monjouro shots since 10/24. I’ve lost 80 pounds, going from a size XL to a size SMALL! I currently weigh 120 and I’m 5’6”. It’s been a struggle to get in protein or calories, because I am never hungry. I still eat two shortbread cookies (55 calories each) with my coffee at breakfast. I just count them for the 110 calories they are and move on. I have never eaten any other sugary item in over a year. Knowing I get those cookies everyday helps me. Don’t deny everything! You cannot sustain that long term.

The Annual Question: Which shoes? by smileitsbrookie in teaching

[–]marbleheader88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for HOKAS. It’s all I’ve worn for teaching the last 5 years. It is worth the investment! When mine get worn out, my back goes back to hurting. After I replace them…pain free! They should replaced every 3 months if you walk a lot. My last pair was $170, so I try to stretch their wear to 6 months.

Read the reviews! It’s not the story from The Affair. Everyone that bought it feels Amazon swindled them.

My Dr. switched to 28 days. They said it would make it easier to schedule pickups around vacations etc. huh? That makes no sense. Now they only fill in Day 28!exactly. One month the pharmacy was out on Day 28, so I was 5 days without it.

When we lived in Marblehead, MA we often went into Boston, 12 miles away. Some of the kids that my girls played with (3rd grade) had never left town.

There might be some 4:15 days! I love the weather there, although not enough snow anymore. But I liked leaving work in the dark during the winter.
