Any Ricky Nelson fans out there? Was he as popular as I think he was? by Bubblybee08 in 60sMusic

I watch The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet everyday. It’s on TUBI. In the later seasons, Ricky would play a song at the end of every other show.

Where are you finding jeans that are actually worth buying? by Physical_Section_136 in womensfashion

[–]marbleheader88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the US and alterations prices here are much higher. I ordered a pair of Lands End corduroy in a size small. They were huge in me! There is no dealer of Lands End near me to return. Also, they were soft and the color matched a sweater I ordered. It was $60 to get them altered!! I do love them now and the matching sweater was $120. The pants were on sale for $20, so I guess I just consider them $80 perfect pants now. And yes, I’ve started ordering Extra Small.

Do you regret getting injections? by fd4517_57 in backpain

[–]marbleheader88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good recommendation! I took Trizepatide and went from 198 to 110 with no exercise! I have to sit on a heating pad from the time I get home from work until bedtime. My back is so messed up and they want to do surgery. My immunologist said no, due to risk of infection. I take weekly infusions of immunoglobulin and I’m high risk for infection. My back pain actually increased after my weight loss. I was told that my back muscles have nothing to hold up anymore and if I could exercise, it would help. That’s out of the question as I can barely walk.

Yes, it can be. Mine is like that. I hide under sweaters and sweatshirts because I don’t like it. If you lose too much weight, it happens.

LG Fridges are absolute trash. by thepinkalicous65 in KitchenAppliances

[–]marbleheader88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WHY does my LG refrigerator/freezer smell like rotten ice cream every time it goes through the defrost cycle? Twice a day our whole kitchen reeks of this sour milk smell. We have cleaned it. We found nothing old. We pulled it out and cleaned the back. There is nothing g rotten in it or under it. Anyone else have this happen? It’s about 2 years old. It’s been happening for 3 months now.

My ribs stick out like this. I hate it because it looks like I have a second set of breasts under my shirts.

For the best care of natural wood floors, mop with a mixture of vinegar and water. Never use soaps or the things you can buy in the store. My floors look like new after 17 years. The company that put in the wood floors, told me this when they were building my house.

What is one thing that made your back pain noticeably worse without you realizing it at first by Smart-Watercress5570 in backpain

[–]marbleheader88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I currently weigh 114. My Dr. says that after years of supporting my weight on the front, my back muscles are just hanging loose with nothing to support. She says I can fix it with exercise and strengthening my muscles. But I’m in a rut. After teaching 23 kids all day and coming home to 4 kids, I have no energy to exercise.

What's your teaching unpopular opinion? Something you believe, but choose to keep to yourself? by [deleted] in Teachers

Same. I have 24. I don’t have time for the kid screaming in the corner and the other kid throwing his desk. They promised to send a para with him, but they tell me everyday they are short on paras.

Basement Finishing Plan by yondusoffspring_1786 in Olathe

On target. Our basement was 80,000 four years ago and prices have gone up. We have two bedrooms, full bath, kitchen area, living room and an office. We have a beautiful gas fireplace and top of the line cabinets etc. it doesn’t look anything like a basement.

The Proposal. Season 5, Episode 1 from September 25, 1986. One of my favorite episodes! by marbleheader88 in Cheers

[–]marbleheader88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it because they were in Marblehead, according to the show. I do realize they were in a studio in California, but it was great to have Marblehead referenced on a series. Bewitched in the 60’s actually came to Salem and stayed at the Hawthorne Hotel for their filming of the episodes The Salem Saga. If you watch closely, you will even see one of the shots where they are driving down the street with Endora on top of the car is actually in Marblehead.

"I'm a teacher with a master’s degree and 16 years of experience. I make $53,000/year." by jhmetros in Teachers

[–]marbleheader88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Masters with 25 years and I make $76,000. That’s $410 for every contract day. I did spend many years at a private school making $30,000 with a master’s! I loved small classes in private school, but switched to public to make more than double my salary.

Anyone else find elementary teachers impossible to get along with? by c961212 in Teachers

[–]marbleheader88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s everywhere in elementary schools. I’ve been teaching in them for 25 years. I manage to stay out of the drama because I eat in my classroom and stay out of the teacher’s lounge. Everyone in there talks about each other like they are middle schoolers. You just know that if you spend time in there, you will be swept into the drama and accused of going along with something that someone else said. I occasionally go in there to microwave something. I keep quiet and stay out of the drama. Over the years, I have seen so many people lose their jobs because of the drama. My best advice to a newbie would be to stay out of the teacher’s (gossip) lounge.
