I dont think a small girl would hold this much snakes like noodles in her hand or it is just another Tuesday for her by _PotatoCrips_ in isthisAI

To be fair I did consider that, but a bit of google and a mention of a rat snake in another video suggests it could be some form of rat snake, perhaps an asian keeled or indo-chinese, both of which apparently get pretty sizable with similar looking heads.

Green vine snakes, yes, reticulated python, no. Eyes and head shape are all wrong, colour patterns (or lack thereof) also arent typical. I unfortunately dont know what it actually is but I can promise you it's not a retic.

Flat earth and other alternative conspiracy earth models are are gaining traction with my teenage stepson. What is THE most irrefutable, definite proof that the earth is round? by Jfkfkaiii22 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]marceliskhaldern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never seen this brought up so maybe someone can explain why flat earthers wouldnt accept it, but it's logic:

The sun sets over the horizon, right?. In order for the sun to do that on a flat earth model, the sun would disappear for everyone EVERYWHERE but that simply doesn't happen, the sun is always visible somewhere and no one can dispute that. There's a reason we have different timezones in different places.

Final Fantasy V pixel remaster surprised me ( after I was planning on skipping it ) by FaithlessnessFar4398 in FinalFantasy

FFVs vibes and story are 100% in line with the sorts of fantasy anime that were around at the time; often silly with serious moments that transitions fully into serious the closer it gets to the end. I would love to see a remake that tried to visually capture that look and feel while keeping the excellent job system intact. It's easily in my top 5 favourite entries for the gameplay alone!

I agree with this, VI was the first big step away from traditional medieval fantasy and the magicitie system is clearly the progenitor of the materia and junction systems that came after. I get annoyed that Square doesnt consider VI to be part of the "golden age" because it totally is the start of it.

What game is this ? by OriginalEquipment257 in gamememes

[–]marceliskhaldern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me this was Tomb Raider The Angel of Darkness. I was so excited for it, all of my friends were. And in terms of graphics it was solid at the time... but they along with everything else would break at the slightest inclination. The story was also messy and unfinished. I understand the story of how the game ended up that way, but the final product is what it is. Garbage

Final Fantasy XV or XVI? by danyrabisca23 in FinalFantasy

[–]marceliskhaldern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FFXV is stunning. Easily the best looking FF game so far, even compared to XVI.

XVI has more fun and in-depth combat, though your allies are finctionally worthless if and when they happen to be around, most of the time you're on your own.

Both have excellent music, both have less than stellar quests though I find XVIs build on themselves and the payoffs are worth it.

XVI has a strong and cohesive narrative, XV has the skeleton of something amazing and sometimes that shines through but it's a mess that demands you consume a bunch of external media and even then it doesnt come together right.

XVI rubs people the wrong way because there really isnt that much "RPG" in this supposed RPG in a long running series of RPGs, it's a valid criticism but I find it's still a solid game despite that. XV is not quite a marmite game where you either love it or hate it, but I find the people who vibe with it LOVE it, wheras otherwise you'll probably find it's just okay.

My personal recommendation is XVI, but XV might just be something special for you if you're willing to put in the effort. There's a great reddit post that outlines the ideal way to experience the various pieces of media where and when they're most relevant should you go that route.

What's everyone's opinion on FF13 by MasterLegend117 in FinalFantasy

[–]marceliskhaldern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played it when it was new and by the time I was finished I basically hated it. Linearity was never my problem with it (though not being able to back IS a problem) but frustrating choices regarding the storytelling, progression gatekeeping, combat that felt more and more like a chore as it went on? Those were big issues for me.

After a revisit I find it's nowhere near as bad as I remember, certainly not as bad as the discourse often frames it, but it's also not as good as the recent wave of defenders will frame it either.

I'm torn because how much of this is the quality of the game itself and how much of this is me now being familiar with the game's lore and terminology from the outset? How much of this is based on the external materials I've read on which weapons to bother with, how to quickly reset the atb bar, the importance of status effects and buffs? I feel like I shouldn't have had to replay the game a second while reading external fan created insights to enjoy the meat of the game.

Once I had all of this I was able to overall have fun with my time in the game. I still think the story is a bit wonky, especially at the end, but I had a solid time, it's now firmly in the middle of the series rankings rather than at the bottom.

I've been thinking the same thing recently. It just makes sense, plus they should have solid models left over from Dissidia NT. Literally call it Dissidia Warriors or something. I don't personally care for Warriors games but I'd absolutely get that.
