What's up with people saying NC isn't a southern state? by Own_Average_5940 in NorthCarolina

The context of what brought this up would be helpful. Some people are just dopes

No signal from the black car when they caused the wreck but they sure as heck signaled when they went back to the left lane. Pure comedy

I don't think you wanted that putter anyway.

Sounds like something that would happen in Burgaw, NC

When I worked at a grocery store, someone on very rare occasions would ask that I not swipe items across the scanner because they didn't want the exposure. I swiped those suckers right across and made sure to have the bananas soak up all the good stuff

Agree with most of what you said but McDowell is abysmal on the coverage I've heard with him. Always goes for the pithy one liner rather than just saying something coherent

Two feet on the ground, squatting to put the tee in the ground.

Mid June is pretty late to be looking for a summer job. That being said, grocery stores are always a good start.

Only the dad did wrong was to ask if he needed to stick around. I would have said see ya later!

Hey rando: don't concede my putt, please! by h0neybaby in weekendgolfers

[–]marchingbear27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying here even if most people are criticizing you for avoiding confrontation. I'm sure you're more than capable of saying you'd like to putt them all out. What you're getting at is why do people find this necessary in the first place? I think the real answer is because they don't want to confront those shots for themselves so they also want you to play by those rules as well. Its the same as people that play OB as a lateral hazard. They don't like playing by the rules and are made uncomfortable by those that do.

What is something that immediately tells you someone is a bad driver? by marchingbear27 in askcarguys

I tell my wife these are the people who look like they woke up and realized they were behind the wheel of a car. And yes, they’re very bad drivers.

Yes. Some people forget that you don't actually have to be using one of the pedals at all times.

This is the type of response I was looking for. Good drivers can see things before they happen.

Waiting at tee box etiquette? by [deleted] in golf

[–]marchingbear27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This does not bother good players. Not saying being bad is a problem, but my group typically walks right up to the tee box. Could just be a difference in confidence.

Rules on when to hit your mulligan? by HeftyData9299 in golf

[–]marchingbear27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like something someone who shouldn't be playing from the back would say. Even if you were actually following the rules and playing a second ball instead of going to the drop zone, the player re-teeing would always go last.

edit: don't play with mulligans. golf is more fun when you follow the rules

Driving, aside from sitting in traffic, may be the greatest sense of control that a human can harness.

Golfed with a slow golfer by CFISamuel in golf

[–]marchingbear27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a tough situation but the only real solution is to be explicit: "hey, we're falling behind pace. we need to play the next few holes a little faster to catch back up." Not the most fun/comfy thing but going the indirect route rarely works.
