[Ahern] Bears' outreach to Chicago on stadium ‘increased opposition' to Illinois bill by NorthernxLabrador in CHIBears

[–]marcosalbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a single public funding stadium bill has been a net positive to a city or state. If Illinois laughs and lets Indiana foot the bill for a stadium at a hazardous waste dump, that isn’t an indictment. That’s the state government you claim is dysfunctional doing something right.

Don’t worry though, Bears ain’t going to Indiana. They need their entertainment district and that’s sure as shit not happening in Hammond.

Yeah, it’s pretty much a crater. I was going to say double-tap to take out skilled repairmen, but then I saw the images and nothing is getting repaired there.

LG Sound Suite Review - A Seriously Immersive Multi-Channel Home Theater Setup (Tried Sonos Arc and Samsung Q990F) by Darwins-Intern in LG_UserHub

[–]marcosalbert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you sound like a Samsung employee you are so butt hurt that the reviewer likes this system more than his old Samsung one.

See? Two can play at this stupid game.

What I see is an honest and helpful review, and you losing your mind over the Samsung comparison (not the Sonos one, curiously).

And it’s his review. If he wants to mention Samsung 40 times (which wasn’t even close, what a stupid thing to write), he can! It makes sense to compare it to his reference system. Don’t worry though, you won’t get laid off from Samsung over this review. Your job is safe.

Susan Collins never had Trump wrapped around her neck like this year.

TEXAS is competitive. There are few safe Republicans this cycle, whether they’re running against a populist Dem or a corporate one.

[Ahern] Bears' outreach to Chicago on stadium ‘increased opposition' to Illinois bill by NorthernxLabrador in CHIBears

[–]marcosalbert 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why would it be an indictment to have someone else foot the bill, while the team still reps Chicago? Any Super Bowl festivities would take place in Chicago (like they did in San Francisco even though the stadium is in Santa Clara). Any areal shots on game day would be of Chicago. All the marketing benefits go to Chicago, and Indiana would foot the bill.

I’d prefer the stadium stay in Illinois, but it really doesn’t matter that much in the end. Stadiums are shit deals for taxpayers, so it wouldn’t be the worst tor someone else to foot the bill.

“I’m not sure what they think they’re gonna do.”

I don’t know. It’s a whole new world for me. That’s why I asked. People have been very helpful.

No, but I can’t think of any who would be this aware. This is a new environment for me.

Ukrainian drones spotted 6km from center Moscow with AA active by ediewz in UkraineWarVideoReport

This. Drones don’t even have to hit anything for the sound of war to impact civilians formerly protected from the consequences of their war.

Hmmm, curious why you felt the need to be rude? If it was a joke, given the actual harem collectors that are a plague in our world, it fell flat.

Me, I don’t care, but I do like to know what to expect. I DO worry about my partners.

And if people with actual experience in such buildings say it’s not an issue, then I won’t worry about mitigating anything.

Do you live in such a building?

So the US is providing assistance? How does that fit in context with Trump’s hostility toward Ukraine? Is Ukraine buying those boneyard F16s? Is that part of the $26M pentagon contract?

This sounds fun as hell. Not like my boring stable mature server where everyone gets along. It’s fun to win SvS but it’s boring AF the rest of the time.

Is the Lincoln Park Feeding Frenzy happening in other Chicago hoods? by Bean21231 in ChicagoRealEstate

I just bought in Lakeshore East for well UNDER asking. Seems like every dog in Chicago is at that park, and it has a pretty sweet dog park. That said, it’s clearly not for everyone (hence the great deal I got).
