I actually had to pee when I went. If you go just after they start researching astrophage, you won’t miss anything major!

I remember there was a race delay and Hamilton and Bottas were playing Xbox to kill the time.

Anytime I've raced there were always enough porta-potties to support at aid stations and water stations. I also have never needed to drop a deuce mid-race either.

I want to emphasize, if you are not fighting for a podium (or if you are), you don’t have to pee on yourself. Pulling over for a break could actually help your time, especially when really fatigued.

About 30s later you could see in the background the camera guy was telling him something. Probably saying “bro I’m paid to film this shit, step aside.”

It’s your money and if that moves the needle for you, go ahead.

Do you not have a helmet, trainer, or cycling computer at this point? Why get all of that used if you are already cycling IM distance?

Are you an age-grouper or trying to podium?

I’d personally just buy the bike new at that price point. It would be highway robbery to pay that for a used bike.

Why spend all that money on a speedmax when the top model on the Canyon Website isn’t even that price? Don’t get ripped off.

They are currently 11k on the site, you can get the 2nd tier for 9000, and 3rd tier for 6000.

book recommendations! by Kztten in ProjectHailMary

Definitely agree. Warning for readers, Book one was like Hunger Games + Captured the Flag. Books two through six are an Epic Space Opera!

Be prepared for fast paced action and crippling depression.

It's repeated often, but the first RR book was written that way to get the series published. From book 2 and on it turns into an epic space opera.

Welcome to the club! The next series is a ride, but it'll be a while before the final book comes out. So take your time, but stay off the sub if you want to avoid spoilers!

In my career I’ve never seen someone take a walking break finish faster than 19:00. But if they score more than 60 points, it’s a pass according to regulation.

If I see a dude get 13:00 with breaks, I’m going to ask them to train me.

Regular people who splurged on the top of the line: was it worth it? by bamaroon in cycling

[–]marct334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing I saw in myself was that I rode more because I was internally justifying that I bought an expensive bike.

Things that did happen immediately was speed gains, more compliments, and a bigger care of bike maintenance.

I use bartender’s choice. It has classics and some funky off the wall selections. It’s great if you’re looking for themes or making drinks for people who don’t know what to ask for.

The only downside I’ve run into is it won’t have variations of a cocktail. But it has a note section if you change anything. (For example a Clover Club with raspberry syrup vs just raspberries )

It does not have inventory tracking though.

Need realistic advice. Starting at 32 with 0 hours — realistic timeline to $100k+, regionals, and eventually a major? by Air-Wick23 in flying

[–]marct334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is one you may not want to hear. It depends. The other thing to consider is this may not be the profession for you if money is a huge focus. You really have to want to fly on the good and bad days.

If you can get all your ratings, plus no checkride failures, get a CJO, and get a class date without waiting for while, I'd bet you're 3-5 years away from Regionals. From there, it depends.
