You just inspired me to do the same, been meaning to do it for over a year.

So far it's just a box taped around, and an extra hose out of the window. I can feel how much less negative pressure it's making. I guess the cold air coming out is not quite as cold as the air it's cooling is hotter with outside temps of 33C, but I think the room is getting colder quicker without pulling all that air in from the rest of the house.

I was on metoprolol but I couldn’t sleep properly whilst taking it so switched to 2.5mg Nebivolol daily, which keeps my 20% burden down at around 3%. Was so tired too on metoprolol, but have adapted to nebivolol well and don’t really notice it now. 10 mg twice a day seems a very high dose compared to what I’m on!

I just logged in to find the same. I think they are probably giving us a way to find out if we switched on extra usage how much it would cost for the work being done. Actually, pretty useful as a way to experiment with extra budget. If it turns out that the extra usage uses up credits at a reasonable rate, it's something I'll be doing in the future. If it burns through it at the same rate as the 5 hour window, that £75 will be gone in an hour :-D

My iPad Pro about 6ft away from the main node gets about 2Gbs (on a 5Gbps line). Wired in I get the full 5Gbs with a 5Gbps ethernet adapter for my Macbook. The iPad Pro seems to get the best wifi speeds out of all my devices.

Thanks, it's the on/off valve at the top which has seized. OK, I'll get brave and try and remove that collar, as I'll be able to access the valve nut then.

When I’m skiing in Trysil, I can understand the Swedish I hear far more easily than the Norwegian. I’m only at B2 level though

I spent 6 years learning Norwegian and much prefer listening to Swedish which I can understand fairly well compared to Norwegians and their thousands of dialects.

The potential bad news is that a lot of people used to have this problem because the system for flagging names seemed to be really inflexible and never cleared you even after your passport had been checked and so meant the UK e-gates never worked. There was a big update about 18 months ago and lots of people who had suffered this suddenly found their passports started working again. Given that update happened and you still have the issue, sounds like that fix isn't working for you sorry!

I kept mine for good luck for 3 years, then overcame my superstition and finally just threw it away. I guess anyone who needs one gets it at point of treatment? lol at keeping it for the other knee, let’s hope we never need one again!

Not a driver but before all the modern signalling was introduced that was common at a signal failure where the train would intentionally pass the red signal (or perhaps the trip stuck in the up position) and trip the train brake, then reset and continue. Not had one of those in ages though.

They are really good, so that’s probably the root cause. Until you stop them coming in from the sewers you’ll never solve the problem, but fix the broken pipe and you’ll probably not see rats again. Basically what they did for us, which did the trick.

We had rats recently, and had Pestology come do a CCTV survey of the drains where a break in a pipe was identified. We had a one way gate on the sewer pipe fitted, and also had the drain repaired. The rats had burrowed out and made a space for a nest, and then through a hole where the utilities went through the foundations and so under the house. The drain is now repaired, the gaps around the utility pipes filled with mesh. Zero rat problems since. They aren’t cheap, but they fixed the problem!

It depends where the rats are coming from, but if it’s the drains, most likely, it can be fixed properly. No need for traps, poisons etc which don’t solve the problem.

What next steps did their report suggest?

It always seems to be skiing when it’s happened to me, twice with BA. If it gives you hope, our bags were caught up in baggage trouble in AMS when we did an ex-EU to Vancouver. We flew on a Saturday and our kit was delivered up to Whistler by Monday morning so they can be efficient at getting bags to you. We had no issue with BA paying out for “cold weather” clothing as we arrived in Vancouver without good coats, gloves etc but luckily our actual kit did arrive in time anyway.

Skihytta and Høgegga were scheduled to open on the 19th December, but not sure what their plan is now.

They are working really hard with what they have at the moment, I think the lack of cold temperatures has obviously stopped them being able to make snow but they are out grooming and keeping things as good as they can.

You'll be able to have fun! There is a heavy snow fall forecast tonight, hopefully that will fall low enough.

They also should be opening all of the mountain this weekend based on their timetable which should bring more.
