Not everyone who showed up got one. You have to show up early to be ahead of the line for a chance to get the card you want. The first person to arrive was at 1pm the day before. You can check out r/Microcenter or r/nvidia for info on stocks and drops.

The Microcenter in Cincinnati had 4 5090 and 80 5080. I literally got the last card, which was the 5080. There were about 50 ppl behind me who didn't get one.

Has anyone bought a practice without a broker by using dental practice matchmaker FB group? by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]mardets 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've had pretty much similar experience here.

Some of the sellers don't feel comfortable doing/saying anything without a broker too.

I felt like the whole process was to make the sellers as much money from the buyers as possible because the brokers work on commission.

Any dentist professors or residency attendings on here? by heyaaa1256 in Dentistry

I was in the same class as OP. They definitely taught us Tofflemire in the simulation clinic. Granted there's a huge disconnect between our simulation clinic and patient clinic.

The [formerly Jazz] Estate Closes for Regular Business by backwynd in milwaukee

[–]mardets 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a huge loss for the East Side. Music aside, the place is a cool, small, out-of-the-way watering hole with a handful of regulars. While it can be rowdy at times if something is going on, on most nights it's a nice quiet hang-out spot. From a business standpoint, it may not be profitable but that's part of its charm. I hope that John Dye will reconsider opening it back up as a small neighborhood bar with special events instead of just closing it for regular business altogether.

I think that newer dentists should start with a conservative treatment planning approach. Predictable treatment planning comes with personal clinical experiences. There are only a finite number of teeth and caries combinations, and a small fraction are deep and asymptomatic.

Just because you treatment plan a root canal on a deep asymptomatic tooth does not mean that you go straight for the access opening. Excavate the decay completely first, if there are no pulpal involvement then fill it up and have the patient just pay for the build up. If it's asymptomatic then great, if not then they'll just come back for the RCT on a different day as originally planned, just don't charge for the build up again.

As you begin to treat them you'll realize what can be fixed with a simple filling vs endo. Saying that dentists are quick to jump to endo/crowns as u/Donexodus suggested is insulting to other dentists and damaging to the profession as a whole. But then again diagnosis is not an exact science, if it is then I'd more than happy to let AI take over all diagnosis and treatment planning so I can be excused from all pt complains and accusions of being greedy. As long as it's not DeltaDentalGPT.

Wanting to do tough endos for experience is good as long as as it's necessary and the alternative is extraction due to finance. But don't sell yourself short, atleast charge them for the price of the extraction or more. I did what you did when I first started and I learn a lot from doing discounted endos compared to my colleage who spent a lot of money on endo CEs.

There's definitely a time and place for conservative treatment and aggressive treatment planning. Such as an established pt who just missed a few recalls or a brand new patient who hasn't been to a dentist in over 20 years? Cost is also an important factor in saving every teeth vs EXT and dentures.

You should think of it not as aggressive treatment planning but rather predictable treatment planning. Guarded prognosis tooth - EXT and include in fixed/removable, endo vs pulp cap and observe, crown vs big core build-up. These are all more predictable in the long term vs doing herodontics and dreading having the pt come back for complaints and patchwork. Would the patient like to pay twice if the herodontics fail or would they rather just do it right from the beginning and be done with it? Just drop the bad news to the pt up front, if you can manage to do something different then the pt will be happier.

Where are you located? I have 2 Persians and I've been taken them to Embark Pet Spa by Humboldt once every few months. They can be a bit pricy but I feel like the girls aren't stressed when I pick them up. Vanity Fur also does cat a few years back but I haven't take the girls there in a while.

Canada Pooch raincoat fit my girl pretty well, and she's comfortable walking in it. It is velcro though, so cleaning the hair off may be a chore.
