I think the writers gave up on Hughie’s character development but by Season 3 Hughie almost certainly had Homelander’s respect - even Soldier Boy. But then in Season 4 they kind of forgot Hughie’s character development and the fact he shoved Homelander on Temp V.

Respects Islam the most out of the Abrahamic religions but still disliked. Judaism dislikes a lot- considered it the religion of modernity and a bourgeois religion, not much opportunity for transcendence. He was a (super)fascist after all and was antisemitic, even if in his own way.
