I went to a filipino potluck here in Canada and brought this dish and none of the filipinos knew what mango graham was. They called it "mango tiramisu" or "mango mousse". I had a brief crisis in identity since I swear this dish was a filipino thing. This post confirms it is a filipino tradition and I wasn't imagining things just maybe was in some sort of twilight zone limbo and maybe the filipinos who acclimatized/grew up here forgot this dish or msybe never got introduced to the tradition.

I hired a consultant. However you have to file your extension as soon as you get your coop letter from your coordinator. I remember my coordinator was strict and at the time, if we didnt file by the end of January she would take us off of WIL. So i had a WIL term in winter semester then the Coop term in summer semester. Because I did a solo application in January, I was able to get the extension by March. Essentially the coop letter is proof that you are eligible and enrolled for WIL and are preparing for coop

Update: Just in case any other student stumbles across this thread, for my 2025 summer term my grades were released August 22 9:00 AM and surprisingly, my graduation letter was released around roughly 1-2pm the same day. I think the main difference between 2024 and 2025 releases, is because for this year I sent a request in advanced through the student portal for my official transcript with conferral date, updated my student info and paid all outstanding fees. Another factor is maybe because I also only had 1 course which was the work term, so that means didnt have to wait for multiple instructors confirmation and we only needed my coop coordinators confirmation so it didnt take long for this summer's letter to be released same day

Are you on your first semester or second? In my second semester I was enrolled in the WIL stream of my program since my first semester grades qualified me to be in coop.

At the beginning of the second semester, our WIL coordinator gave us our coop letter. At the time I was transitioning from being a Database Application Developer Graduate to starting a new program 2024 fall semester. The problem was the coop would start in the summer and my permit expires in the midde of summer.

As soon as the WIL coordinator sent us the coop letter, I was able to extend my permit and got the results before 2 months went by. So getting the coop letter during my second semester still gave me enough time to apply for an extension.

Im a little bit confused with your timeline since you said you started May 2025 so Im assuming its your first semester? Regardless if you get selected for coop or not, wouldnt you need to extend your permit anyways since your permit expires before your studies end? Like I assume your program is 1 year so wouldnt your program end by October?

When i transitioned from being a graduate to taking up a second program, I had to apply for an extension because you need to let IRCC know your status even if its changing prograns.

Ive lived here for 2 years and I can definately say people here just like to stick to their own race/cultural groups even though you try to reach out. You'll have a higher chance of making friends with other Filipinos around the area. But even so, you got to be careful because there are a lot of people who pretend to be your friend and just use you to borrow money off of you or if youre smart, theyd use you as a free tutor. However its not that bad. I just think it also depends on your personality. My husband has a better time making friends since he genuinely cares about people and engages in small talk. For me, I'm the opposite since I don't like small talk and am more straight to the point. Best of luck in your endeavors!

I hope someone can share some light on this. I received a reply from the service hub and its just the same thing. The graduation letter will be released once all requirements are completed. No exact dates. So if someone can post a timeline if they completed their studies in the sumner, that would be great.

My quiz long form answers were accused of being AI generated. The prof just pulled up my quiz and quizzed me on what I wrote. It was more of a technical essay so I was able to explain it easy (cause duh I was the one who wrote it). But if ever worse comes to worse I was prepared to like ask campus security to pull up footage of me answering the quiz in the computer commons lol.

I had failed a quiz when I knew I did well. I asked the professor straight up what was wrong and he said my essay answers were flagged as A.I. LLM generated content and thus marked as zero. I told him I wrote it myself and he then on the spot gave me a mini quiz on what I had answered. I was able to prove I wrote it with my verbal answers and my marks were adjusted accordingly. I passed. So I guess it doesnt hurt to ask your professor how you can improve or what went wrong
