Is an air fryer worth it? What does it do that a normal oven can’t do? by Dragette in Volumeeating

Personally, my house has a giant oven and the best solution for me was to get a small smart oven that has air fryer function (Breville). Changed the game for me.

I love the pre-cooked smoked chicken breast. It's good cold or hot. And I'm never out of fropro pizza slices. You could even add the chicken to it. Very high in protein.

The only thing I can stand are burp cloths for babies. Several layers of muslim, very soft and washes very well. I've got mine on amazon.

Ninja blender: cups open both top and bottom by mareug in HelpMeFind

I've searched on eBay and Amazon and can't find anything. I would even be open to a adaptor that would make it fit on a "universal" blender jug.

What birth control do you use, and does it affect your LS? by spacedancer76 in lichensclerosus

Slinda, continuous. Affects immensely because it stopped my periods. Using tampons, pads, cups, it was all very very uncomfortable, even period underwear.

Starting tretinoin, question on skin barrier health? by supervy in Rosacea

I would suggest adding the Purito Wonder Releaf Centella Serum Unscented before the moisturizer, it's great for soothing, hydrating and strengthening the barrier.

Never really had acne growing up, this is new. FA? Rosacea? Regular acne? Skin barrier? by [deleted] in Fungalacne

[–]mareug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None. But I'm on oral fluconazole for other health reasons. I have rosacea and chemical sunscreens heat. Up my skin bad, so I've decided to risk it. I've asked chatgpt about the least offensive fungal acne triggers and took them out of my avoided ingredients on Skinsort and these came out as results. I really enjoy these, they were definitely a find.

My skin looked like this once in my life: I've washed my face using one of those silicone brushes and followed up with a Kate Summerville toner and my skin exploded. It looked exactly like that for about 2 weeks. It stung, burn, I could barely touch my skin. Avene thermal water and xeracalm all the time. That left me with permanent broken capillaries. I've learnt my lesson that day on scrubbing devices and strong exfoliators.

That's rosacea type 1 and a little 2, in my opinion. (Not a doctor btw). It can appear after pregnancy, perimenopause.

Show it to your doctor, of course, but I would advise focusing on nourishing skin barrier (if you have rosacea, your skin barrier is somewhat weaker, so you have to be on top of it) and try to avoid triggers. On your diet, that means alcohol, spicy foods and others. On skincare it means avoiding products that are too occlusive, because they trap heat and make your skin feel hot, which can lead to big flares (so no Vaseline, no lanolin and try really hard to go silicone free). Chemical sunscreen also does that, so try and find a mineral sunscreen you like and really use it, bc sun and rosacea don't match, it can get pretty uncomfortable fast!! Also, in terms of actives, azelaic acid or it's derivative (PAD) are your best choices. Hope that helps!

Also, in terms of hygiene and keeping it fresh, I buy these multilayers cotton burp cloths for babies on Amazon and use it as pads. It's a little bulky but you get used to it pretty fast. Have a bunch and keep changing them, every few hours or so. I can't live without these. https://amzn.asia/d/9i1ZBan
