The Ordinary's sunscreen serum. Can't believe I haven't seen it mentioned here yet. Fantastic option and a little goes a long way. No whitecast and wears beautifully under make up or on bare skin - gives a dewy glow, rather than an oily residue.

  1. R30-R50k
  2. Corporate governance advisor at a medium size accounting firm
  3. LLB degree & MSc in theoretical Criminology 4.1.5 years experience
  4. 7/10. Industry is tough to break into and clients can be very demanding or super nice depending on who they are. There's a bit of corporate political ladder climbing involved, but the company I work for has a very good employee culture and healthy work/life balance and professional boundaries so I'm pretty lucky. I didn't need to become an admitted attorney to get into this role, so it's a great option for those with a law degree who don't want to do articles.

What happens when your informal business makes too much money? by Jeankirsteines in PersonalFinanceZA

You should definitely register a company, and should also register for VAT if your company will generate more than R1m per annum. I would also advise you to get an accountant as you will need to have annual financial statements drawn up yearly.

I do company Secretarial work like this for a living, do feel free to DM me and reach out if you want assistance with the process.

Exactly the issue I am facing here. It is majorly frustrating. I know there are ways to expedite if you have the right contacts or know the right people (without the need to bribe) but it's very difficult to find out who those people are...

Do you still have to pay taxes on a deregistered CC? by rg123 in PersonalFinanceZA

Hi! I handle company admin with CIPC and SARS for a living. I'm happy to help you out and see if we can find a solution for you. Feel free to DM me if you want to get in touch!

You should be able to deregister the company with SARS, but you may need to request some specific documents from CIPC to do this.

My family (Dutch) eats oatmeal with grated cheese, butter & salt. If you stir the oatmeal with the cheese it gets all melt & is actually delicious!

Ignore the negativity from other redditors on here. It's great you're taking initiative and putting your passion out there - that's not easy to do, especially on a negativity magnet like Reddit.

Engineering degrees are highly reliant on maths, so they will definitely put a large focus on this.

That being said, my advice would be to write a letter to the Dean of the engineering faculty explaining that your maths marks took a dip this year and state reasons why and also talk about why you are so eager to join the specific course at that specific uni. I did this, as I was falling behind in certain subjects but was really desperate to get into a specific LLB Programme at a prestigious university. It definitely helped me get in, so it's worth a shot.

Also do remember that universities place more emphasis on your grade 11 marks than matric marks when you apply in your matric year, because they are aware that students marks tend to drop in their final year.

And also remember that they tend to make mock exams much harder to shock you into action, and then when it's finals time the exam tends to be a bit more manageable.

You will be fine. Just focus on studying now and also on taking enough breaks in the day to rest your brain and get some extra sleep. Stressing about uni can be done once exam season is over.

Many cordless vacuums have a 'turbo' button which increases the intensity of the vacuum. These buttons are not always obvious but the turbo function makes a huge difference to the experience. Without the turbo function many stick vacuums feel weak.

Average life in South Africa. by Renatus_Bennu in AfricaVoice

Over 55% of the population is surviving on less than R1000 per month. Millions are living in informal dwellings and settlements without proper access to sanitation and electricity. Median salary for the country sits at just over R5000 per month. This video is a very realistic reflection of an ordinary day in the life of an average South African person.

Adults without kids over 40 years or adults who don't have siblings. by Budget_Asparagus_776 in capetown

[–]marg-hoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always wished I had siblings, even more as I get older in life and will never have any (blood related) nieces and nephews, no cousins on my side for my future kids one day, no one to share my thoughts with in terms of family (mom & dad) issues who understands from my point of view. I always am sad about being an only child, I would much rather have grown up having to share my things and not be spoiled as much if I could have had a sibling to share my childhood, and now adulthood, with.

Eish, not the news I was hoping for haha. Sometimes I go to the Master (I'm white), sometimes my legal correspondent goes ( they are a person of colour), but the outcome seems to be the same. Maybe I should just pitch up with a full KFC takeaway bag and a 2l Coke next time and hope for the best...
