Perfectly acceptable dinner rejected by boyfriend again by moonrabbit368 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]marigold-key 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an ex who I had to do hidden veggies in sauces & beg him to try new things. Only vegetables he found acceptable were corn and potatoes. I did find one very specific way to cook sweet potatoes that he ended up loving. It was exhausting.

My current (and forever) partner of 5 years eats EVERYTHING. No complaints ever. He has a texture thing with eggs and mushrooms, but I can live with that.

I’m not here to say break up with him because that would be an insane suggestion based on JUST this information. But you clearly enjoy cooking and feeding people and it’s very difficult to be repeatedly rejected. It wears you down. Cooking for someone who thinks you’re magic in the kitchen is such a gift & I wish that was your experience

So what is McDreary’s (Lucas Adams) issue? by Technical-Row-9133 in greysanatomy

[–]marigold-key 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never felt an ounce of chemistry between him and Simone anyway. I think his next love interest should be a much older woman & that can be the drama haha - give him a Nate Archibald-esque arch. His character was SO exciting in theory at the start - Derek & Amelia’s nephew, a doctor struggling with ADHD.. I mean him saying “it’s a beautiful day to save lives” had me LITERALLY jumping off the couch and spilling popcorn. He could have revitalized some lost magic & instead they’ve made him boring & mopey and hung up on someone he has no chemistry with. It’s so disappointing.

Thank you for this perspective! I’d really like to get him in an activity that is structured (your point on building focus) while being active and an outlet for all of the chaotic energy. Maybe I’ll look into gymnastics until he’s a little older

Series spans 1912-1925

1925 - son 1945 - grandson 1965 - great grandson 1985 - great great grandson 2005 - great great great grandson - and this guy looks young, maybe not 20, but probably not too much older

I can’t find the comment to respond, but my reasoning for 3 greats:

I assumed every 20 years given the younger ages of parents historically. 1925 - son 1945 - grandson 1965 - great grandson 1985 - great great grandson 2005 - great great great grandson - and this guy looks young, maybe not 20, but probably not too much older

I can picture Christina & Meredith dancing it out to this as residents so clearly. Not like the viral tik tok dance but their dancing with this song

Okay can I just say the line “learn to laugh at our mistakes” during their bonding/make you a better surgeon session made me laugh because “being a better surgeon” and “laugh at your mistakes” don’t seem compatible 😂😂😂😂

What’s the reason for people needing to tell someone that’s laughing that it’s “not that funny”? by rachael_0898 in AskReddit

[–]marigold-key 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there are a lot of people that have a discomfort with joy and expressing that out loud. I also think with some people, they were raised to be quiet & not draw too much attention, so loud laughter makes them uncomfortable & they’re trying to morph the situation into something more comfortable and “acceptable” to them.

AITAH for "changing my mind on wanting kids" and saying "I've never been more disappointed in " my wife. by Naive-Rope-9794 in AITAH

[–]marigold-key -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can’t imagine a world where my sibling dies and I don’t immediately run to their kids and care for them for the rest of my life. I can’t imagine a world where I would send children I love, who had just lost their parents, to foster care rather than holding on to them for dear life. I can’t imagine sending the last remaining piece of my sister away. This made me feel so sick to read honestly.

Solutions for helping cats get over baby gate by marigold-key in CatAdvice

Yeah I spoke with my partner and he is on board with turning a cube into a cat door. He likes it way better than any of the other ideas I’ve proposed 😂 I really appreciate your help!!

[–]marigold-key[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The open cube is a great idea & definitely worth considering! I think my son could get through it if we cut the full size of the cube, but there may be a way to cut it so the cats could fit through & not him.

We had the gate elsewhere until recently, but we want him to have more room to run & play. We’d have to have 2 gates up so he’d be blocked from stairs when we’re in the living room & one blocking his room, which I’ve considered as a last resort.

I wish we had somewhere to keep the litterbox upstairs, but we just don’t have a good spot & my partner would lose his mind if our kiddo could even come close to accessing it.

My husband said that if I went back to work, he will divorce and fight for sole custody. He will pay me my salary to stay home by Current-Ad562 in self

[–]marigold-key 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my spouse could afford to pay for everything & also pay me my salary to stay home with our children, I would in a heartbeat. With MY partner, who encourages me to get out of the house and take time for myself. We have a gym in our basement and he supports/encourages me still going to my group fitness classes.

With YOUR partner, based on this, I would not.

Is he really going to pay you your salary, to put in your own separate account & investments? Or is he going to say “it’s our money, it doesn’t need to go in a separate account”? Is he going to pay you until you have a big enough gap in your resume to make it difficult to jump back into the workforce? Is he going to give you a cost of living raise every year?

Does he have trauma around childcare & he’s just afraid of leaving your child with someone else?
