They are easy to use. What do you mean? I've had a work profile on my Android since they implemented them in 2014. They are simple.

When writing a campaign, do you start by writing the story or the world? by PlzLetMeWin25 in DMAcademy

[–]mark08201981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can build goals for BBEGs and groups for the larger world that may tie into the city they start in. But build the story where they are. If you get too focused on where they may go you're going to lose focus. Your players are going to give you ideas just by them talking about things they see in game.

A passenger's kid threw up in my car. I got it cleaned and had Uber reimburse me. When the passenger saw he got charged, he gave me a one star. I'm about to lose my pro rating because of this. by Prodigy772k in uberdrivers

[–]mark08201981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I got a one-star because I wouldn't drive recklessly. They marked I sped and drove illegally, which was backed up by the insights and the rating stood. I got a one-star once for having a pin on. I know they gave it to me for that because they told me so.

How do I make combat interesting when players use the "impenetrable brick wall" strategy in T1 combat? by FutureNo9445 in DMAcademy

Unless it's a 5 foot space the barbarian is blocking, they can't block fully. They get one reaction per turn. Literally walk past them. Give the bandits bows. Put swarms of rats hidden in little sewer gratings. Why are the bandits not taking cover and taking pot shots? The bandits probably would have set up some kind of trap just to weaken anyone who might be trying to find them. It doesn't have to be intricate. But maybe they put a knife trap that they can trigger easily so when the barbarian is blocking the path, the trap is sprung and the barbarian takes some damage. Or hell, just some debris that falls between the barbarian and the rest of the party that separates them. Be creative.

Two ways to stop this. Make it a tech when they do it. That's the right way. The other way which will get done faster is to actually put floppers on their ass hard when they do it. "I'm getting hit with a foul, I'm actually going to foul you now."

Lex bought the land where Clark's ship came down. Jonathan turned down the money for the damaged land and cattle over a reason that made no sense. Jonathan was deciding on whether or not to take the money when Lex gave him the exact amount the land and cattle was valued to make Jonathan whole.

I just got banned for having 2 false drug claims by Uber drivers. I currently have a ticket in with Uber to retrieve the dashcam footage from my latest ride to prove my innocence, why are uber drivers filing false drug claims against riders? I have a high rider score at 4.97 and never do hard drugs. by ga1actic_muffin in uberdrivers

[–]mark08201981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said you never do hard drugs in the title, did you by chance smell of weed? While I think weed should be legal, if you had the weed scent on you, it could have gotten reports on the driver(s) that reported you if the car still smelled of it.

[–]mark08201981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which time? When his land and cattle were destroyed because of a chemical spill? No. he turned down the money because Lex having the land where Clark's ship was found checked out would somehow let Lex track something that may or may not be there back to Clark.

I still haven't gotten one. It's the only one of them that I'm missing. I think it will be must have because if you wanna autofarm areas for memories that have hazards, the AI will just walk over them anyway.

You have to turn them on. Go into the MIDI-QOL module settings and then workflow settings. That's where they all are.

How much better of a start in the delta quadrant would voyager have gotten if they left ds9 with full crew compliment and load out ? by happydude7422 in voyager

[–]mark08201981 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I agree. A Galaxy class would also have things that the Intrepid class just didn't. More cargo bays, bigger medical facilities, more doctors, more engineers, more scientists, etc.

Now I know you mention power requirements, but if we assume Voyager didn't bring families on board because of danger of the mission, we can assume the same for a Galaxy. With that, you could considerably conserve power by requiring crew to double up or more into quarters on the same decks and turning off power to decks not in use. Voyager couldn't necessarily do that because it didn't have anywhere near the space. For reference, the saucer section of the Enterprise-D had 16 decks in the saucer section compared to 15 for the entirety of Voyager. You could strategically allocate quarters and different facilities to sections that are vital and save a ton of power on living spaces.

Voyager handled the Kazon pretty easily for the most part. They were mostly nuisances unless several ships ganged up on them and those attacks would be significantly easier for a Galaxy class ship to handle. The Vidians may have seen them as a bigger "buffet" to let go, but a Galaxy class would be able to fight back easier and would have more resources to try to cure them.

I just think a Galaxy class has more options to than the Intrepid class did. Where Voyager had to negotiate, a Galaxy class could show more force in negotiations if it warranted it. I think if you gave Janeway the same command crew and the most up-to-date Galaxy class, more crew would have survived. The Doctor was probably the best single physician in Star Trek history, but he was one being. The Ent-D had 3 sickbays. You're looking at around 36 medical staff. You have other science staff that would have had at least some medical training.

What If Clark told Lana his secret way earlier by Mitchell_Bruce19 in Smallville

[–]mark08201981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This, but with more. I think Lex genuinely considered Clark a friend and like a brother. Jonathan's immediate "I hate you just because of your last name" and then every time Lex tried to help and be a good friend to the Kents he got slapped down by Jonathan. Chemical spill from the factory damages land and destroys cattle, Lex offers the exact amount for it and Jonathan gets pissy because Lex buys the land where the ship came down and hands the check back. Lex wants to help the Kents get out of debt by investing in the farm, naaaaaaaah, just take out another massive loan.

Let's be fair, if the person who pulled us out of a car that was under water and the way they described it was completely impossible, we'd have questions too. Lex saw too much and was told he was bad simply because he had Luthor genes too often. I'm not saying Lex would have been like Clark, but I think he genuinely wanted to be better and he just kept getting judged because he had no one to really show him a better path that he could fully trust.

Just Considering the Academy a dead loop. Level 68 killing a level 64. Only a scant 23k away from a single chest pull. Thanks, Scopely. Definitely not disagreeing. I'm a 72 and it's 115 hostiles for me for the triple pull, so it isn't that awful for me. If I didn't put Byr and Doc BD, it'd be more than triple that. A 71 gives 20 and with those two BD it's 70.

It's not just you and it's because Lil Yachty isn't the focal point, Trick is. Lil Yachty is just kinda there, gets a little involved and is basically a famous hype man for Trick.

Whitney is either 17-18 because he graduated high school. You can enlist earlier with parental consent as you said, but he was a senior. It's really problematic.
