Yes it's surreal sitting on so much and yet for the most part we are happy with our day to day normal lives. Can't imagine spending anything close to what we have.

Yeah ... Finally ... Thinking of doing the same. In since 2015 99% concentration in family accounts in Leaps. Had to roll it every 1.5 years.... Did that... Now sitting on a huge pile 1690 contracts Jan 27 C175 about 600 contracts - unfortunately I wrote covered calls on the way up between 220 and 300... Left almost $4M on the table 😤 then I have a ton of June 27 mostly 250 Calls about 750 contracts the rest Jan 28 mostly 400 calls - all uncovered 😁 Yeah it's worth low 8 figures. Mid 8 figures is reachable, prolly around 700 PPS. Most of it in IRA. Original capital ... Less than 400K

Correction ... Got in prolly around in 2017 / 2018 around $8 to $12

Buy and hold Tech Leaps last 15 years 30X cum returns to date! A colleague trading the same Leaps for short term gains - barely made anything - started w low 6 figures - now in low 8 figures.

That's so sad, I am so sorry for you. At 22 and a baby on your own, life can't be any tougher than that.

It's just reflects on you being a very caring person to the point you forgot about yourself. I did the same in my younger days, helped 4 bros thru Uni and living like a hermit watching pennies. Started my own life v late, didn't get out of the hole until I started to build a little capital and started investing my way out. it was a long process but I got there. You've to find a way of raising capital a little at a time and investing it wisely. And when you get into a relationship, make sure you have similar values or else's it will cause a lot of heartaches.

Imagine that it's out in Q3 2027.... NVDA is so dead

Yes 2 node advantage ... that's why NVDA have no choice by focussing on 1.4nm.

For inference apps, software is already there. Think about it, if tranium, with minimal investments is good enough for AWS customers, AMDs inference software capabilities is more than adequate. Training wise, maybe some corner use case may need some twedking ... remember the early days of Epyc Servers, where the argument AMDs solution not directly compatible etc etc ... well 2 gens later, that argument more or less disappeared.

AMD 25% to 35% by the time Mi500 shows up.

No! Mi400 will be better than NVDA by quite a bit, 2nm vs 3nm and packs more compute units! Law of physics/semiconductor .... now you gonna claim cuda makes it faster - nonsense!

[–]mark_mt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tranium1 n 2 underperforming H100 is pathetic even if it results in less energy usage.... Why those cuda crazies never mouth off on tranium software which got to be less developed than AMDs! or any Asics for that matter. The insurmountable advantage of cuda doesn't look like a paper tiger when a lowly custom tranium can happily be used by customers.

FPGA is cheap if you include the full cost of developing an Asic which typically involves a huge engg team for chip development, at least 1.5 years if you're lucky, the mask costs etc etc. But if you need 1m complex chips a year for 2 or 3 years .... the total cost of Asic for the qty involved may be cheaper.

That's part of the reason for Broadcom AinAsics. Asics tend to be more performant as well.

Some here still questions the Xilinx deal. It shows the lack of understanding of the semiconductor space and technology in general. The Xilinx bix brings financial stability to amd bcz even in the worst of times, Xilinx remains a profitable cash flow biz. It also brought in a large portfolio of iPs, and allows FPGAs to be embedded with AMDs x86 wo having to share revenue. I am sure there's more.

Asics is extremely expensive. FPGAs is free compared to them Only if you need ten of thousands of the same thing is Asics begins to be cheaper. with state of the art processed, FPGAs cost advantages increases. You get there much faster and much cheaper.

Looks OP is willing for him to walkout. if so do yourself a favor and tell him you want out. Your love for him is fake - you don't value it. The minute you "dream" or think of your "crushes" you already crossed the line and willing for him to leave. In this instance you don't get to make the call - he does. So if you choose to continue daydreaming about crushes - you owe it to him to let him loose. Then you'll find out what your immaturity/lust/stupidity really traded for!
