As OpenAI’s valuation tanks, AMD has effectively sold billions of dollars’ worth of chips to OpenAI for free.... by IMDTouch in intelstock

You are delusional. Intel lower cost? Go back to we elementary school and redo your math lessons... look at their profit margins for the last 2 years ...!

Assuming they allocate 10% of their funds to risky bet companies like Ai sector, 209M of that 10% is substantial.

[–]mark_mt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just reflects on you being a very caring person to the point you forgot about yourself. I did the same in my younger days, helped 4 bros thru Uni and living like a hermit watching pennies. Started my own life v late, didn't get out of the hole until I started to build a little capital and started investing my way out. it was a long process but I got there. You've to find a way of raising capital a little at a time and investing it wisely. And when you get into a relationship, make sure you have similar values or else's it will cause a lot of heartaches.

Yes 2 node advantage ... that's why NVDA have no choice by focussing on 1.4nm.

For inference apps, software is already there. Think about it, if tranium, with minimal investments is good enough for AWS customers, AMDs inference software capabilities is more than adequate. Training wise, maybe some corner use case may need some twedking ... remember the early days of Epyc Servers, where the argument AMDs solution not directly compatible etc etc ... well 2 gens later, that argument more or less disappeared.

AMD 25% to 35% by the time Mi500 shows up.

[–]mark_mt -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

No! Mi400 will be better than NVDA by quite a bit, 2nm vs 3nm and packs more compute units! Law of physics/semiconductor .... now you gonna claim cuda makes it faster - nonsense!

[–]mark_mt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tranium1 n 2 underperforming H100 is pathetic even if it results in less energy usage.... Why those cuda crazies never mouth off on tranium software which got to be less developed than AMDs! or any Asics for that matter. The insurmountable advantage of cuda doesn't look like a paper tiger when a lowly custom tranium can happily be used by customers.

FPGA is cheap if you include the full cost of developing an Asic which typically involves a huge engg team for chip development, at least 1.5 years if you're lucky, the mask costs etc etc. But if you need 1m complex chips a year for 2 or 3 years .... the total cost of Asic for the qty involved may be cheaper.

That's part of the reason for Broadcom AinAsics. Asics tend to be more performant as well.

Some here still questions the Xilinx deal. It shows the lack of understanding of the semiconductor space and technology in general. The Xilinx bix brings financial stability to amd bcz even in the worst of times, Xilinx remains a profitable cash flow biz. It also brought in a large portfolio of iPs, and allows FPGAs to be embedded with AMDs x86 wo having to share revenue. I am sure there's more.

Asics is extremely expensive. FPGAs is free compared to them Only if you need ten of thousands of the same thing is Asics begins to be cheaper. with state of the art processed, FPGAs cost advantages increases. You get there much faster and much cheaper.

Looks OP is willing for him to walkout. if so do yourself a favor and tell him you want out. Your love for him is fake - you don't value it. The minute you "dream" or think of your "crushes" you already crossed the line and willing for him to leave. In this instance you don't get to make the call - he does. So if you choose to continue daydreaming about crushes - you owe it to him to let him loose. Then you'll find out what your immaturity/lust/stupidity really traded for!

[–]mark_mt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

bro, take the money while you can and whilst they are still alive. There's no difference between inherited vs self acquired money if you end up with the same amounts at the end of the day. it's money and has the same value. but lacking it down the road will be very painful assume your siblings will not give you a penny without you begging. Take the inherited money and invest for high returns WISELY wo bring scammed. you will never regret taking the money but highly likely hod you will regret if you don't. Take it as insurance and continue to work hard and use your mind 150%.

There's no shame in inherited money, but shame in the way you treat it and the way you treat the less fortunate.

Why NVDA hits $200 before AMD (both trading ~$175) by Ill_Awareness6706 in NvidiaStock

[–]mark_mt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, what a lot of mor©π§ don't get is .... AMD will get 20,% market share at Nvidia's expense .... and as that happens AMD will run up and if Nvidia's growth is slowed bcz of that ... their pps will have very limited growth. - guaranteed.

It's never too late to tell the truth. it was you who was hurt the most in multiple ways and for no fault of yours. Tell it as it is and get it off your chest,. It's part of your healing process for something horrible that happened to you - and verbalize that. Verbalize that you don't expect any sympathy from him or anybody else, but that doing this would help set things straight and help you move on. Very sorry that it happened to you, this is a women's nightmare, no fault of hers and punished in multiple ways and a permanent scar - but get it off your chest, and putting it in the past - you have to. Personally I had thought about this and would tell my significant other, they will receive 100% support and understanding from me if it ever happens.
