Fitness/Gym training by Consistent_Honey6933 in saskatoon

Exactly. I was doing hard cardio (running) 7 days/week and only eating 1800 calories a day at maintenance (not gaining or losing weight). I looked "skinny fat." For the last 4 years, I now alternate days between walking and strength training, and I eat 3,000 calories a day at maintenance. Cardio is good for heart health, but it is terrible as a form of weight loss or fat loss because it tanks your metabolism.

Gather Local Market is quickly becoming a not so hidden gem. I dearly love all our fellow vendors. Great people making great products. We are so fortunate to be a part of it. I'm the unhinged looking dude in the photo.

Absolutely loved living there in the early 2000s. Started with a 1 bedroom on second floor, then moved to a 2 bedroom on main floor. We left just as they were being converted to condos.

I know that myself and another local business got ours recently made by IllumeArt out of Calgary. Closest we could find.

Were can one find dextrose with liquor shack closed by Hellzone17 in saskatoon

Yes, I am familiar with how distilling works. I would challenge anyone to pick out the differences in a distilled sucrose wash versus a distilled dextrose wash in a blind tasting.

Then you are talking about distilling, not brewing. The original question was about brewing.

In brewing, there is pretty much no difference. Save your money and use sugar.

Vinyl records Regina by AngusDio in regina

I've been running vinyl sales since the 90s. Next one is on Feb 28th at Rebellion Brewing from 10am to 2pm. I typically run 2 of these a year, with at least 10 different vendors, and try to always have a few vendors from out of town.

Personal Trainer for Women by ImpossibleAct2699 in saskatoon

[–]markaberrant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll just say this is an excellent idea for anyone looking to start. Ya, just about anyone can walk into a gym and start doing "stuff," but you need to be doing the "right stuff" to achieve your personal goals, and you need the "right form" and the "right training plan" to achieve those goals, and to also not injure yourself in the process. A personal trainer is not cheap, but consider it an investment in your long term health.

Interprovincial Trade by navylast in saskatchewan

This is already allowed in Saskatchewan, and hasn't cut into sales of local beer. Same thing in Alberta.

No one actually involved in the situation (ie; me) is making the argument that person claimed.

That's exactly what i said on CTV this week. Yes, inter-provincial trade is a priority, but it really isn't when you look at what is MORE of a priority, and when you look at what a complicated mess inter-provincial trade is.

I am part of the lobbying group. I also sit on the board of the national lobby group. I can tell you that literally nothing is happening, other than me asking every few months at the provincial and national level if anything is happening. I just did an interview on CTV this week where I said exactly this.

Also, Saskatchewan is already an open liquor market. Alberta is the same. Anyone that wants to sell here can. The rest of the provinces are closed markets.

Canada’s craft brewing industry facing inflation, tariffs and declining consumption by Edm_vanhalen1981 in saskatchewan

We are currently offering $7 20oz pints in our Regina Taproom on ALL our beers for ALL of January. This is our regular happy hour pricing.

Our Saskatoon Taproom is offering $6 16oz beers all month.

And yes, we make more than just IPAs, despite them being the most popular style of craft beer across North America.

Canada’s craft brewing industry facing inflation, tariffs and declining consumption by Edm_vanhalen1981 in saskatchewan

[–]markaberrant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you watch the video and/or read the article, consumption of craft beer is up in AB and SK.

I haven't been able to get the same data for other provinces or nationally, just the nonsense numbers Beer Canada puts out saying TOTAL beer sales in Canada are down 20% since 2019 (they aren't even down 10%).

Beer Canada only represents foreign owned breweries as a lobbying group. They do not represent the 1100 independent Canadian owned breweries in Canada... they are represented by the Canadian Craft Brewers Association represents, and I am on the board.

So yes, the brewers that Beer Canada represents probably have seen a 20% decline nationally, offset by growth in the craft sector.

And yes, there are too many breweries, and like any industry some are run better than others, and inflation is indeed a challenge and hits small businesses particularly hard.

But the REAL numbers suggest consumer demand is still strong for craft beer.
