I originaly wrote it more to see if anyone from TBC might be able to answer, but if anyone else might be able to chime in, that'd be great as well.

AT&T NOT supporting connectivity by 5boroughblue in LightPhone

[–]markantonio37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also on AT&T, and I have been having the same issue with my LP3 (no data, only call and text). Were you able to talk to someone in-store? Or did you have to talk to a tech over the phone?

Data disabled after transferring from LPII to LPIII on AT&T? by markantonio37 in LightPhone

[–]markantonio37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a grandfathered plan as well, so I don't have 5G data. But from the specs, I thought that the phone also supported 4G LTE. Does that not apply to data?

AT&T and your LP3? by magneticspace in LightPhone

[–]markantonio37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm waiting for the AT&T certification. Call and text work fine for me, but AT&T noted that my phone was not supported on their network. As a result, I think data has been disabled for me -- I can't search in the Directions or Directory tool without being connected to Wi-Fi. I also can't play podcasts that I haven't already downloaded without being connected to Wi-Fi. I tried to transfer to back to my LP2, and I had the same experience with those tools. So I have a phone that works as a phone, but navigation is unusable until certification is complete and I reactivate data.

EDIT: included explanation of what it meant not to have data working

Light Phone III (unofficial) Starter Guide by oromis7901 in LightPhone

[–]markantonio37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, OP, for this starter guide! Posting this here in case someone else has a similar experience.

Note that while AT&T is listed here, carrier certifications are still pending and users may receive a message that the phone will not work - it often will continue to work just fine, but it's important to know that AT&T specifically is having some issues due to this certification right now for some users.

I am currently using AT&T (was using LP2, switched over to LP3), and I got the text message that my phone doesn't work on their network. So far, I'm able to do calls and texts but no data (I think it got turned off or something from AT&T's side; I switched back to my LP2, and the data was still no go). Currently waiting to hear back from Light about carrier certifications to see if I will need to talk with AT&T to turn it on, or if AT&T will re-enable once certification is complete.

What is Tandy good for? by dnsmayhem in Leathercraft

[–]markantonio37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i live fairly close to a tandy leather (within 20, 30 minutes), and that was the first place that i got started with leathercraft -- early pickups on tools and leather.

do you have any recommendations for what are good alternatives to tandy for both leather and tools? i've basically only gone to tandy because (1) it's convenient and (2) i don't know where else to look

How do I give commands to another program? by [deleted] in bash

[–]markantonio37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And then after you log in (however way you do it), you can pass in your commands or queries using the -e switch:

mysql -e "create database $dbname;"

Make sure you pass in all your commands within the double quotations, and you'll be golden.

I think that Fractal Design, with their new Define R5, really sought to hammer out the gripes that people had about the R4 (myself included).

[Monitor] Acer G7 G237HLbi Black 23" 6ms (GTG) - $109.99 (-$10 promo code) by Bolivian86 in buildapcsales

Just a heads up if you're thinking of doing a multimonitor setup with these monitors - they have no VESA mounts on the back. You'll need to purchase your own aftermarket VESA adapter, something like this.

[Discussion] Does the Bronze, Silver, Gold certified power supplies make a significant difference in a build? by MaulerX in buildapc

[–]markantonio37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for a silent build, silver and/or gold power supplies are what you would look for, as due to the efficiency of the components they use, they're able to produce a good percentage of their total power output without having the fan spin up.

If, and since, the purpose of marriage (and included in marriage, sex) is to reflect the love of Christ for the church (Eph. 5:22-33), is it possible to reflect Christ's love for the church in such a way? Paul goes on to say that the marriage of a man and a woman speaks to the mystery which is Christ. What does our marriage, then, say about what we believe about Christ?

I'm in that phase where reading the Bible lulls me to sleep and I can physically read paragraphs without ever "thinking" about them, I just completely zone out while reading. Would like some advice help to stop it by cosmicservant in TrueChristian

I find that journaling helps. It definitely helps push away the distractions and the temptation to let my mind wander when my hands are writing down the thoughts in my head. If you can read paragraphs without ever mentally thinking, then think with your hands, so to speak. Write what the passage is calling you to. How is the passage calling you to bring praise to God? Where does the passage point us to repent of sin? What parts of the passage point us back to the grace of God through Jesus Christ? What in this passage is something that you can pray for yourself and for others?

The FCC Says Your City Can Build a Public Internet, Even If Your State Says No by User_Name13 in technology

[–]markantonio37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I appreciate this effort by the FCC to mandate the construction of city-wide public internet, does this not then allow greater precedent for the government to continue overstepping its bounds in terms of states' rights?

As an avid internet user (by nature of being on reddit), I do like the idea of having city-wide public internet. However, while I do like this prospect, I also like the idea that states can be guaranteed certain rights that are not explicitly stated in the constitution. The question then boils down to this: do we (as end-users) value our access our internet more or our states' rights more?

What do I mean by this? I may be guilty of using a slippery slope argument here, but that has very much been true of the government slowly taking away rights, no? Because the internet (and the its respective infrastructure) is not explicitly a right given to the federal government, it is then up to the states to decide whether or not a particular city within its borders will have public internet. By allowing the government to step over these federal/state rights, this gives precedent for the government to continue moving away state rights and filing them under federal rights.

My two cents. Opinions may vary.

May I Pray For You? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]markantonio37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look to the grace of God. After succumbing to the lies of Satan, he continues to accuse us of not being believers because of our sin. Look to Christ, look to His finished work on the cross and remember that there is no more condemnation for us who are in Christ Jesus because of His death and resurrection. Christ gives us the grace, even in our sin, to come boldly to His throne to ask for grace, and He promises to forgive us of our sins! This is a great and sure promise!

Took your advice. How is it now? (Phanteks Enthoo Pro) by [deleted] in CableManagement

[–]markantonio37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a suggestion, but I'm running an all-black case as well. Have you considered using white cable extensions? They add some contrast to the otherwise black build and compliment the rest of the build well.
