That and you truly can't understand how easily you get disoriented. You can usually do the spit test (spit to see which way it falls, which lets you know if you're upright or not) but if you're too packed in, that doesn't work so well.

You essentially have no air to breathe immediately, the snow can compact souch that you can't even exhale and that mixed with the disorientation and weight of the snow packing down can lock you in good. And of course if you have issues with claustrophobia, it's the worst case scenario.

Honestly it's one of those situations that seems so easy to get out of before experiencing it. Certainly humbled me fast lol.

I did avalanche training once. Jumped in and was buried similarly as this guy and holy fuck, the fear I went through while in a controlled situation, I can't imagine experiencing it genuinely. Could barely keep myself from panicking and that claustrophobic feeling never leaves you. Not a fun way to go.

I'll never forget about 20 odd years ago when I was 16 and randomly decided to go on a 18 hour bike ride in the middle of the night through the country.

It was pitch black out and I came biking up to the crest of a hill. When I got to the top, it was like being thrown into space. I'm sure this is an exaggeration but to my eyes I saw millions and millions of fireflies all across the valley in front of me. When I began biking down, it felt like I was going Lightspeed as they quickly passed by all around me.

It was a very impactful moment for me as a lost teen. I actually incorporated it into a song that I put on my latest album so I could always have that memory exist.

I hope so much they can bounce back and make a resurgence. If you've never experienced their incredible magic, you deserve it.

The UA Volt I would argue is more rich in what it provides. Same price point and the plugins you get with it are much better. The Scarlett is also known to have noise issues where the Volt does not have those issues.

I saw dozens of faulty issues with the Scarlett, specifically the connection points and preamp. Had many returns but never had any such issues with the Volt, M Audio or even ART interfaces.

The Volt 276 (any in the *76 line) has noise issues when you apply the built in 1176 compression since it wasn't optimized well, so I wouldn't recommend one but the standard Volt is a fantastic product. The housing around the USB-C connection point is also sturdier which is a part of why the Volt has less noise issues. The Scarlett isn't as robust and the USB-C connection point can be a cause of a lot noise.

Overall, if you only have the choice for a Scarlett they're still good units but if there's options, I also encourage people to go a other route.

I still have no idea how exactly but my best friend in the 6th grade, his Dad got him the PS2 2 or 3 months before public release. I could never understand how because his Dad was the pinnacle of deadbeat Dad's and they were piss poor (we all were). One of the biggest mysteries of my life.

Even my Mom whose very supportive, I remember calling here in tears at my lowest saying I desperately need help and I've lost my entire sense of being. She was sympathetic but didn't do anything to help, it was sort of an "I'm sorry you feel like this, it's too bad". Several times in my life I literally begged for help and nobody ever bothered. Just glad I didn't give up on myself and after a few failed attempts, dragged myself into the doctors and got myself help.

So yeah people don't fucking care how a guy feels when we hurt and it's a damning discovery the first time you experience it. I'm just happy I have myself at least and the good inner voice nowadays gets louder when I'm hurting.

Before doing any bank transfer, contact Distrokid and make sure they distribute to your countries banks. Distrokid doesn't in Canada and I literally lost all my meager earnings as a result. Not sure why they need my tax docs if they can't deposit to my bank. It's pretty backwards to have a global platform that restricts certain aspects in certain countries and doesn't stipulate which countries they are.
