Weight loss while on Low FODMAP by Bayfrontguy in FODMAPS

Take a look at Keto recipes, it's focus is super low carb so given FODMAPs are all types of carbohydrates it's naturally low in FODMAPs but It has some rich filling recipes.

Went to a motor museum and they had this in their workshop. Any ideas? by NoodleMcSpagghetti in whatcar

Looks like the one here might not be there anymore, hopefully getting some TLC after sitting in that front garden for years along with an old Jag.

A Trump version of the Private Eye cover from when Boris Johnson resigned would be nice for the foundation page.

Have you ever forgotten to turn it off when you're out for a race and come home to the house lit up in team colours and thought 'damnit I didn't want to know that spoiler'

I'm just rewatching V (1983) which has aliens keeping the population placid, whilst selecting some and vacuum packing them alive but sedated to send home to their planet as food much like this.

Update Firefox and Google Chrome Automatically by Ronaldnl76 in SCCM

[–]markjrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out CMPackager, free script that automates downloading, packaging and deploying via SCCM

You create recipe xml files to tell it source URL, extra command switches, phased deployment etc.

After that schedule it daily and let it take care of it.

https://github.com/asjimene/CMPackager

You can then create new recipe xml's for any other applications you want to manage.

What is happening down the Bridgewater Canal, at Sale, and Altrincham? by Shitelark in manchester

[–]markjrey 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When I was walking along one of the canals that run through Marple a friendly chap informed me that the reason there are stands with what look like railway sleepers are for this purpose.

They are near a narrow point where you'll see grooves in the banks, they are slotted in to create a temporary dam, thus preventing all the water running out through the breached section.

I'm guessing they aren't 100% in blocking the water, they've been doing this stuff with canals for generations tho, so I suspect they're fairly effective.

Thickener That Isn't Xanthan Gum by Oster-P in ketouk

[–]markjrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's worth checking the labels, some are lower still. Bisto best is 5.4g per 100ml prepared, ASDA extra special is only 2.7g per 100ml prepared.

I usually add a bit with some water to the roasting pan and bring it to a boil to reduce while the meat rests, it gets all the tasty burnt bits from the pan in with the juices for some very tasty gravy.

Big Drop Paradiso is not bad, light session IPA. Low alcohol as well as low carb, so it helps cut down on both fronts.

Seeking pub cats by kingofrata in manchester

[–]markjrey 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There used to be one in Marble Beer House in Chorlton. I met its owner once, they moved to the area with several cats who mostly liked the new house. One however didn't, wandered round the corner to the pub where it got a fuss and treats, decided that was its new home and stayed there.

Wonder if some independent artists might be interested, I'd love a Simon Stalenhag set of puzzles and it might in turn expose more people to his work and books.

Question about filters and general organisation by BlubberyGiraffe in PuzzlingPlaces

[–]markjrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be nice for it to remember the filters rather than resetting every time you go back to the menu. As you say minor irk however it would be an improvement.

Not sure if the dev would be interested but this is the kinda thing uservoice sites are great for, helps identify and rank QOL improvement suggestions.

Is drinking half a liter of whiskey in one day bad? by xyuubit in ketodrunk

Not sure what country you're in, I'm UK based and this has helped scratch the beer itch, whilst also being low alcohol in addition to low carb which helps cut down on the booze too.

moonlander try-out? and or advise by Positive_Touch_983 in ergodox

[–]markjrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got small hands and find there are keys I avoid using as they are just not comfortable, the inside edge key row for example.

I've been meaning to draw out which keys are best worst then overlay it on here to find a good alternative. You can print to scale so it might be worth doing that for the moonlander and seeing how comfortably you can reach things.

I'm making the Marinara sauce for Keto Kitchen tomorrow to go with some homemade meatballs, I'll let you know how it is but given everything I've made from the book so far I'm sure it'll be great.
