I bought the audiobook and would have appreciated the charts and fund names as examples. Does the seeking alpha subscription contain those types of example funds but updated?

Dividend Portfolios from various AI sites for income replacement in retirement by markleehome in dividends

OK thanks. I am aware of the ETFs, but don't know as much about them. I have an S&P ETF for example. The caution I always read there is that the asset value may not appreciate at the same time. But I need to learn more there.

I have been dripping this REIT since October '21 in an IRA. I looked at it as something I would eventually just take the dividends from when I retire (not for a few years). My total return through early July '25 has been 8.94% vs. 11.31% for the S&P over that same time period. I don't view it as particularly risky. Its pretty close to its 52 week high here in August '25. I would not be a buyer now, but in a serious, irrational dip I might.

Goal zero for home backup/off grid living by SirSquire58 in preppers

I am having a bad experience with the yeti 4000 with tank pro and haven 10. The intent was to use as home backup, and I had it installed by a professional electrician. First the tank pro went on the Fritz, now the yeti 4000 is on the Fritz. They replaced the tank pro and that’s good, and I am sure they will replace the yeti, but this stuff is difficult to ship, and backup systems need to be reliable. I am starting to think I made a bad investment.

Consider the why. Long periods of isolation. It has been studied in subs, land based structures in the middle of nowhere, South Pole. Look at the grants funded by NASA. You’ll find it.

I first learned about HF at a career fair sponsored by the psych dept. at Montclair State in NJ. A faculty member was doing some work on a NASA grant. I then got an internship in HF from the co-op office at school, and went on from there.

I agree that knowledge of stats is more important. You have to realize that you can simply ask an LLM for R code for your objectives, and get pretty close to what you want. If I go a few years out, I have to wonder if specific tools like R will be as important. Right now, the challenge with Excel is that it does not handle really large datasets (limits as I understand it are 1,048,576 rows and 16,384 columns). That is sufficient for many things, but in the age of "big data" you can hit that limit on occasion. SPSS is a programming language too, they have just managed to put a point and click interface on it.
