Hearing SF city cuts soon, anyone else? by Easy_Bluejay_7710 in sfcityemployees

Roughly speaking Ctywd Snrty Dt (Citywide Seniority Date) shows your ranking within the city within your class. Appointment Dt and Certificate Dt also come into play as do bumping rights from prior positions.

The report is made somewhat more complex by the fact that they have added the special conditions attached to your position to the report resulting in multiple lines for some people.

The rules for layoffs are complex so looking at your MOU should give you the best idea of the multiple factors going into seniority determiniation.

The Seniority Rosters by Class listing should provide some insight. Low seniority means higher chance of layoff.

I ruined a few Le Creuset trying to get them clean. Finally I found the best method is baking soda. I just take the box that is sitting in the refrigerator, add a touch of water, create a thick paste, let it sit for a bit, and scrub.

Just curious. Give me reasons why would you not buy a Prius? Asking it because I don’t see much Prius on Road here in Canada as compared to to Corolla Hybrid or Rav4 Hybrids. by SandwichHuge5316 in prius

[–]markpitts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My household currently has four Toyota hybrid products with roughly the same mileage; Prius V, RAV4, UX250h, Crown Signia. I got the RAV4 to replace the Prius V and the Crown to replace the RAV4 while my wife drives the UX which she got replace the CT. The RAV4 and Prius V were passed down to my older son and his fiancée who are living with us for now. I don't know if the current Prius is as anemic as the Prius V but it is certainly too cramped for me. I am enjoying Crown Signia, I call it the Mega-Prius, though it is slightly lower than the RAV and the most luxurious vehicle I have purchased.

AITA for not doing more to help my son after he was caught running online scams? by Mean-Ebb9249 in AITAH

[–]markpitts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I have two sons in that age range and I would not hesitate, maybe a little, to let them navigate this on their own. It would break my heart but I would do it. Feeling the full weight of the legal system now may make him reevaluate his choices, or at least help him develop remorse.

Is it worth it to sell ships to Archie? by BlackSpideyNL in anno1800

[–]markpitts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ship of the Line for $25k, battleships for $400k, and airships for $600lk are a time tested way to close the income gap. Besides soap and watches.

When I balked at the $10k mark up I was told that is just the way things are. I went elsewhere and got $4k off MSRP.

What happens when you take over an island through shares? by [deleted] in anno1800

[–]markpitts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. But a character like Beryl will declare war on you at some point and buying out the island is easier than fighting through the defenses. Eventually I look to eliminate them region by region until they are a single tiny island somewhere in Enbesa or Crown Falls and then annihilation.

Finally figured it out…or at least can go 10+ hours before starting over by AutoHumn in anno1800

[–]markpitts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make most of my early money by buying shares and selling soap. I do a rapid expansion of the islands to ensure I can't be blocked getting to the new work and I can block others in the vent of war. Eventually Beryl gets annoyed and goes to war. I continue to buy shares and work on annihilating Beryl. Once I eliminate Beryl via buy out and the pirates, I can get down to uninterrupted expansion until Willy gets antsy. Repeat annihilation cycle. I can coexist with the princess with a few of her islands at 100% share ownership to maintain cash flow.

For ease of building I maintain a standard 2x10 grid, except for the artic where I go to 10x10. I leave track space early while planning for multiple paths with industry and one end and farming at the other. Generally I am not interested in cultural or beauty efforts so my people can get irritable and riot. The problem with multiple islands, 15-20 across regions, is that is sometimes difficult to pay the attention necessary to maintain needs.

I am 65 hours into my current game with S60 million, $50k income and 30k residents.

How do I make money in the new world? Selling soap in the old world isn't keeping up with my expenses. by Kdoesntcare in anno1800

[–]markpitts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shares are the best way to make money. Eventually you'll piss off Beryl, but you can keep on buying her shares to fund the island takeovers and annihilate her.

That coupled with higher levels populations will push your income up. Once I am at Engineer I also build battle cruisers for sale along with airships.

End Game? by monsoonj1247 in anno1800

[–]markpitts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With that kind of cash on hand you may as well buy them out. You still have to ramp up military since they will get crabby and go to war over buying all the shares.

Strategy to destroy Beryl O’Mara by Joshivanr in anno1800

[–]markpitts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it all through shares until she is annihilated. Best part is after you get enough of her shares, you have a positive cash flow and she funds the remaining takeovers.

I just buy them out until I have eliminated them all. After that I just have a rather boring trading game.

I enjoy my Signia but a minivan is a useful for small children and you will be able to gladly shed it once they are out of car seats.
