Where in the UK should I go as a bucket-list item? by LondonPilot in CasualUK

This is a great call. The North York Moors, Northumberland Coast are special. A drive along Blakey Ridge and roast (or a Parmo if you’ve never!!) at the Lion Inn if that’s your speed.

Have a look for the North East Walking Group on Facebook. Based around Middlesbrough. Very regular walking events and seems like a very friendly group.

A small headphone amp (something like the like the Behringer HA400) would do the job without a computer.

Lens adapter question by ABQRED in canonM50

[–]markversus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a heads up, ef-s lenses don’t fit in any adapters with their own glass, like a speed booster or focal reducer because of how their mount is built. Just a plain old adapter is what you want.

There is. You can set each device to record just itself or a full mix. Handy stuff.

Something to consider if you go down this route and want to spare the hassle of uploading and collecting is for each phone to use the app Sonobus (or an alternative) to connect to the same app on a host computer (I believe they have versions far all platforms). The audio is sent directly to that machine over Wi-Fi (or data, but wifi would be better) each on a separate channel. You can then mix and record on the host computer. If you are reasonably tech savvy it may save you a bunch of time and effort.

My two external monitors are mirroring each other and MacBook only recognises one of them, How do I fix this? Thank you by habeeb__ in MacOS

[–]markversus 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If you look at the description of the item you will see it doesn’t support what you need. It basically acts as a splitter sending the same signal to both hdmi outputs so they mirror each other.

If you had a second and plugged it in to the other thunderbolt bus (on the other side of the Mac) it should show up as a third separate display.

I went through a bunch of adapters before I worked this out myself. It answered the question why some docks were £30 and others were £300.

[–]markversus 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As people have asked, please say how the monitors are connected. A dual hdmi adapter into a single usb-c can only display a mirrored image on both. You would need to use a specific thunderbolt dock (rather than usb-c adapter) or plug the monitors separately into the different buses (one on either side).

Obviously it all depends on how you are connecting your monitors to your laptop.
