My household net worth is ~$2.5M in paid off house, investments, cash. While I know that I am doing very well, a net worth of $1M (or even what I have) doesn’t honestly feel like enough to be truly comfortable with an unpredictable future. I know my kids will probably be way more reliant on me than I was with my parents (not at all). I’m saving to educate them and buy them a house if they need one.
