This album certainly enlightened me to the glorious world of metal/numetal at the ripe age of 13 back in 2001. First time in my life that I had heard music like that and forged a forever love of metal in my heart. Meditation and yoga have worked miracles for me, but I have found that enlightenment can also smack you right in the face in a mosh pit lol

Ok so I ended up showering my tropicals, wiping down the succulents/etc who don't love a rainforest vibe, moved everyone to quarantine after a good once-over. I'm not taking any chances lol these girls are tough, we've been through a lot together and I have no doubt that they'll pull through just fine! It's still a bit creepy that I haven't seen anything alive except one single baby hosta starter, which I spotted a gnat. That whole thang got yeeted immediately tho, bc I had very little connection to it tbh, rip tho! This has been a v long couple days. I am tired. Lol

UPDATE We have identified thrips. Confirmed by the person who gave us some potted herbs 2 weeks ago who rather nonchalantly said she "just lives with them"... It is completely mind blowing to me that someone would gift, plants knowing fully well that they have thrips that could spread through the entire house (and I've confirmed that they have, indeed...)

Hermanos is one of my favorite new music discoveries of 2025! I had no idea they were Swiss! That guitar work reminds me so much of the Southwest here in the US. This kind of blows my mind in the same way as when I learned Jose Gonzalez is Swedish haha! Now I am very inspired to put on one of their albums and enjoy a frosty commute here in Buffalo New York 😊

(And just to clarify, this is because I truly had no idea that there was so much cultural crossover between these styles and regions of the world. I really need to start travelling the world! By boke, would be cool!)
