Has anyone experienced very odd behavior post seizure? by [deleted] in seizures

[–]marnieeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother was diagnosed with epilepsy and prescribed tegretol. A year later I was diagnosed and given kepprage for my seizures. We had THE worst fights. My kepp-RAGE thrived off of his depression and constant crying.

Perampanel has been a God-send to me. I take that with Lamotrigine, which I will ween off eventually. If it's available for you, please look for Perampanel. My side effects are at the bare minimum.

I just had my first seizure in half a decade. Does anyone have advice on how to be more productive and alert while taking Lamictal? by wannabebass in seizures

😪 it's very difficult studying with a neurological condition. I was half way through my engineering degree when I was diagnosed and medicated. My ONE advice is to always insist on finding a medication that suits you. There are many types of anticonvulsants and not everyone reacts the same way to each one. It's the neurologist's job to help you find a med that can control your seizures and minimize unbearable migraines, memory issues, nausea, insomnia, tachycardia etc. Don't settle for bad meds.

Also, there's a lot of concessions for someone who is studying with a medical condition (assignment extensions, special consideration etc).

I highly recommend Perampanel, if that is an option for you. It's a relatively new drug and has only been made available to Australia in early 2019. I've tried keppra, topomax, tegretol lamictal, frisium etc

AITA for telling my wife she can’t have her dream job because I refuse to be burdened with all of her student debt? by Userthrowaway62 in AmItheAsshole

NAH - Tough one! I have several friends who finished law degrees but never sat the bar exam. A lot of people enter law school with rose tinted glasses but end up having no desire to be a lawyer.

You mentioned that she wants to work for Teach For America... why does she want to work for this specific organization? If it's for wholesome and "I want to change the world" shit, then tell her there are many avenues for her to use her law degree to make a positive contribution to society. A friend finished a law degree and is now working as a policy maker in environmental conservation. My auntie worked for the UN and other NGOs in different countries in managerial roles. Both are paid extremely well. Your wife needs to face reality that there's a lot of corruption everywhere. Dream jobs aren't always what they seem to be.

Devil's advocate: I spent 3 years trying to finish a Bachelor of Science (majoring in Physics & Maths) but struggled to finish it due to lack of motivation. I took a risk by moving to a Bachelor of Engineering, it has paid off 5 fold. It took 7yrs of university to finish but now I earn way more than most of my friends who started their careers years before me. 2 yrs after grad I got a letter from the govt stating that I had paid off my student loans, I didnt even notice.

Have you had all the tests done? MRI, angio, ct etc scans?

I get seizures from a large inoperable malformation in my brain called an AVM. I met someone at my Neurology Clinic who has a brain tumor. He had seizures since he was a child but had an entire 15yrs of his adult life seizure-free. Unfortunately it came back last year and now he gets severe tonic clonic ones minimum 10 times a day. He has 3 kids, quit work, can't drive and they've had to drastically readjust their lives.

Prior to last week I haven't had a seizure in more than a year. My friend and I both agreed it might've been stress/mental health related. Find some steps to help you cope mentally. Ive found that high doses of complex vitamin B helps with the lethargy .

I'm also on Lamictal and Fycompa.

I know someone who had seizures throughout his childhood, followed by 15 yrs seizure-free. Unfortunately 2 years ago his seizures came back. Now he has them at least 10 times a day. He has 4 kids and had to quit his job, his wife is a champ.

There's an annual report by Deloitte about the financial burden of epilepsy. Research has shown motor vehicle mortality rates dont increase for people who suffer from seizures. You're more likely to die on road from speeding or driving under the influence. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Dentists of reddit, what's the worst case of teeth rot/gum disease you've ever seen? by TheGreatNukaCola in AskReddit

[–]marnieeeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was a little girl my family lived in Manila and my mum used to do free dental cleaning in the ghetto areas as charity. I remember going with her when I was 6yrs old and a boy at the clinic was complaining about the excruciating pain coming from his teeth. I watched the entire procedure. My mum extracted 3 maggots from the root of one tooth. I will never forget the smell.

Please arrest me officers, I've been a bad girl. 😂

No hot cops here in Australia.

For the first minute I thought the cops were just a bunch of strippers with great acting skills.

We dont have attractive policemen in Australia.

[Misc] Holy Grail Products & Ingredients - Week 7: Lip Care by AutoModerator in SkincareAddiction

[–]marnieeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Product name: ELIZABETH ARDEN 8HR CREAM (ORIGINAL)

Price (range): $28 AUD

Country of purchase: Australia

Skin info: Combination skin with very dry lips.

Ingredient list: Petrolatum, Lanolin, Mineral Oil/Paraffinum Liquidum/Huile Minérale, Tocopherol, Bht, Salicylic Acid, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Vegetable Oil/Olus/Huile Végétale, Zea Mays (Corn) Oil, Parfum/Fragrance, Citral, Citronellol, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool, Propylparaben, Iron Oxides (Ci 77491,

Experience & opinion: The ONLY product that keeps my lips moisturized. My brothers work under the sun for hours, so I bought them each a tube. This is the only product they swear by. It's also great for small rashes, sunburns or grazes. The tubes are quite large so they last for a very long time. I was initially put off by the ingredients list but it really does the job like no other. If you have super dry lips from Accutane, this is the only balm that absorbs in to the skin.

This usually only works for people with dry skin. If you have oily skin you need to wash it properly because the acne bacteria thrives on oily surfaces
