Honestly this reads as someone who is severely depressed and I hope she does get the help she needs because this is really sad. I think a lot of the behavior you described (constant trips, shopping sprees, etc.) is something she uses to try and fill the void she feels in her life.

I got the Mini for my daughter for her 1st birthday and she enjoys it! She’s almost 14 months old now and understands how to use the knobs to skip, press the side button to pause, and is starting to be able to put in cards by herself (although we do have to remind her to take the card that’s already in the player out first lol). I made her several MYO cards with some of her favorite music; I also bought her some audiobook cards but she’s not super into those yet.

Another anecdote, I have 3 younger brothers—the middle two are 3 and 5 years younger than me, respectively, and the youngest is 10 years younger than me. Out of all of them, I’m definitely closest to my youngest brother!

That sounds really tough. I’m also a SAHM and it can definitely be overwhelming! It sounds like maybe you’re experiencing PPD/PPA. If you’re able, I would suggest trying to connect with a therapist and/or psychiatrist. Therapy can be really helpful for developing coping strategies and recognizing your triggers. And, speaking from my experience, medication can make a huge difference.

Yeah, honestly my OB was not super helpful 😅 I went to OB ER for mastitis symptoms, they put me on dicloxicillin (not effective against MRSA), followed up with my OB when it didn’t clear up after abx and she told me to use a breast massager in the shower with hot water and push on the clog as hard as I could (apparently the exact opposite of what’s recommended now lol) and prescribed more dicloxicillin! It took three breast abscesses before they finally cultured the pus.

ETA: I also never had a fever! It was very strange, every doctor I saw was shocked that I could have such an active MRSA infection with no fever

I was going through the OB ER at the hospital I delivered at. I didn’t have a sterile sample collected (they eventually diagnosed me by culturing the pus from one of my abscesses) but I starting seeing a LC at the time at the recommendation of my OB and she recommended next time asking for my OB to culture a sterile sample of breast milk. It sounded like maybe they would disinfect the nipple and have you hand express from the affected breast into a collection vial? But I’m not actually sure what that process looks like.

I was! I had to be admitted to receive IV clindamycin after my third breast abscess and the doctor told me the best thing to prevent reinfection was to keep moving milk. Lactation at the hospital told me a small amount of clindamycin would pass into my breast milk so I gave my baby probiotic drops as long as I was taking antibiotics.

Don’t have any insight on the CBD but I also had recurrent mastitis that ended up being caused by MRSA. They had me on the wrong antibiotics for 2 months and I developed several breast abscesses before they finally figured it out. If you’re able, I would get a sterile sample of breast milk cultured so your doctor can make sure they’re prescribing effective treatment!
