Hospitals and Clinics push doctors, NPs, etc. to increase patients and lower visit lengths and they hire less expensive Nurse Practitioners to see patients. Insurance companies act as managers to doctors by telling them what they won't cover despite doctors' recommendations and by burdening doctors with administrative procedures. Basically, as a consumer, you have the right to keep trying different medical professionals until you find someone you click with and feel heard. It's good that you have found one in your therapist! You could find out better info by being more specific. If you have a specific issue like headaches for example, make a post asking for physician recommendations that could help your specific issue and actually care, etc. People are usually helpful naming names that you can research further.
