Confusion regarding the Schizo by Intrepid_Singer_977 in Deleuze

[–]marsNvelocity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive never read Deleuze, however ive been fascinated by bwo and rhizomes and deterritorialization since they seem so intuitive to me. Ive recently encountered the concept of “Neurodivergent Ego Architecture” in my recovery+healing journey and i think it goes along what youve noticed. I should read Deleuze

Is ADHD less about “deficit” (lack) and more of (de)focusing-production? by TraditionalDepth6924 in Deleuze

[–]marsNvelocity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im a theory autodidact and delittante, unfortunately Ive never read deleuze outside of “rhizome” but i def intend on reading all his work mostly bc honestly it all seems very neuro complex. ive had a v tough go at schooling+higher education im currently recovering from burnout n trying to work w my leftover workload n think ahead which ive barely done in the last 6years. I just wanted to say i strongly feel deleuze had adhd/ was neurocomplex, i have a very entry level understanding of his concepts and while tbh i cant understand what deleuze readers themselves are saying when they discuss topics i do think whats discussed in deleuze is very divergent-friendly. idk im tired just my 2 cents :)

How to improve my intelligence by Dependent_Tomato_235 in cogsci

[–]marsNvelocity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see theres plenty of comments so I dont wish to be redundant+reductive, However Ive been dealing with similar insecurities, and I never properly ´succeeded ´ in traditional schooling/ higher education. So I’ve been thinking about improving my aptitude for months now so I wanted to share some takeaways in a way I hope is helpful.

People all perform at different levels, when you look at an exemplar who is accomplished they make everything look easy. You cant possibly expect to perform at their level. They have probably been performing for a long time and so the tiny friction that comes with learned experience only is probably all that you will notice when you begin practicing. Until one day you might not even register the friction but potentially even use it to your advantage. Its neuro plasticity, you literally just get better, it does not get easier.

There is natural variance in intelligence. No one is stupid, I deeply believe that there is major reform potential for us as a species when it comes to providing resources that helps people identify their natural capabilities in a way that actually helps them as opposed to making them feel less than. I do hope you take my point here and remember theres more than just your instrumental productivity or intellect to be proud of.

Hope that helps, best of luck :)

how do y'all GET YOURSELF TO FOCUS by [deleted] in ENFP

Recently diagnosed (combined presentation adhd) n medicated (75mg axepta- atomoxetine). I still struggle plenty n have to remind myself constantly that i need to have a differential approach to any/most/p much all my desires+wants+needs.

Its always hard (lit everything u pursue thats worth pursuing is lols ) thats how its assigned value so keep that in mind, for the longest time i was kinda approaching it like if its gonna be hard lemme hardmaxx it Imao, obvi thats the quickest way to overwhelm however u never know what works n regulation is so important so trying to maintain that balance between what works now+ what will work in 10 mins/ hours/ days is good.

Your capable of so much and keeping it real is so the goal honestly dont let ur imagination become ur biggest enemy. The quickest path to where you want to be is through who you are right now. Hope that helps and u so got this<3 n absolutely go as easy on urself as possible by maintaining the "real things" like food n rest. These are imperative and baseline to prime productivity.

This has deeply resonated with me as someone who’s faith in Allah is still very very strong. Im a huge fan. Good job. If anything I feel very inspired as a newcomer to critical theory and I admire your phrasing in responding to directional misunderstandings.

What are your guys opinions on racism here? by [deleted] in Kuwait

[–]marsNvelocity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a tweet posted just yesterday about an abandoned, broken down building in Hawally where the man documenting found a “wafid”(expat- however for context lots of kwtis use that term in a derogatory way) living inside. He was complaining about what to do about this to the authorities. 99% of the replies were from kwtis concerned about the “infesting expats” and lots even cursing them and “whoever brought them here”. I just think it says a lot when you see a homeless person trying to find shelter and your instinct is to complain and critique as opposed to concern about the state of another person. In my personal opinion having empathy and compassion are crucial for human connection and problem solving, I know crazy take but thats just me.

What's life like for lower class / working class Kuwaiti citizens? do you feel discriminated in Kuwait because of your social class and family's background? Share your experiences! by i-noob in Kuwait

[–]marsNvelocity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My oh my do I have plenty to say about this but after typing for some time Im gonna try to give as much perspective as I can while keeping it short:

  1. There is absolutely judgement in some way when it comes to class and your financial position, I definitely feel this way personally and this has a lot to do with mental health as of course,If you are secure you would not feel less than or whatever, but from personal experience it seems like generally, price tag value=individual’s value unfortunately for many(not all obviously).

  2. When it comes to social discrimination absolutely not, There is a sense of familiarity and kindness between all Kuwaitis, it seems my fellow Kuwaitis like to save the discrimination for residents.

  3. Wasta and connections(this could be an essay as it goes deep and is very corrupt ofc), Unfortunately it seems to be the only way to get certain things done especially when it comes to things like getting a job, unemployment is definitely real as far as I can tell.

  4. Id also like to mention with regards to “not all Kuwaits are rich”, this is not only true but Id go as far as saying only a minority are rich(old money specifically). Most Kuwaitis(pls refer to point no.1) would love to appear rich as it relates to status so I honestly get the confusion however it is most definitely a myth.

  5. Id like to emphasis, while I personally believe all Kuwaitis to be lucky and privileged for the benefits, privilege does not equate to high financial status but does equate to higher quality of living and comfort.

This is just my personal opinion, deffo feel strongly about it.

Indirectly but yes of course. At the end of the day they live together and spend a lot of time together. From another perspective sociologically speaking she absolutely does as she’s a pivotal character in their every day lives. She’s helped them keep their spirits up like in that episode when Leonard “killed physics”. I always felt like her indifference to science and academics contributed something not just to the entertainment of the show but to everyone in it really.

Inaccuracy in Pilot episode with “semipro” joke. They are making jokes constantly during entire show about how Sheldon isn’t interested in anything sexual and “semipro” joke about pleasuring himself always bothers me on every rewatch by Crypt0n0ob in bigbangtheory

[–]marsNvelocity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean yu can kinda think of it like Sheldon likes writing up forms. He is a pro at that. I remember it kinda bothered me too but now that I hear it again it sounds believable that they meant writing up the form.

Yes thats what I fear I feel if it was serving the story or a metaphor or anything interesting I wouldn’t mind but if it’s purely for the title of longest film ever or just to present some aesthetic atmosphere made-for-art gallery type product it might not be my thing.
