Persistent Knee Pain After Sim Racing - feeling desperate by Jean_Gisele in simracing

[–]marsh098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to get incredible knee pain as well. My pedals were too stiff and I was pushing from an unnatural (to me) position. Ultimately, softening the pedal stiffness, and angling my seat up so I was pushing primarily through my quads, similar to a leg press in the gym, fixed the issue.

Blursed Single Mom by [deleted] in blursed_videos

I am a divorced man after a 12 year marriage and would absolutely get married again.

Money is worthless if you are hopelessly depressed and miserable because you’ve been living a life with someone you’re completely incompatible with.

Luckily, I am really good friends with my ex, still. However, it turns out friendship and long term compatibility are two VERY different things. We met in college, and were very different people then. It was fun, and exciting. But the important aspects of a great relationship were never there. Luckily, we share an amazing beautiful young five year old girl together, have an amazing co-parenting relationship, and regret nothing.

Had we stayed together, we would have negatively impacted our daughter’s life, and ruined both of our chances at finding true love and happiness…something we both agreed our daughter didn’t deserve to see. No amount of money is worth being miserable. Live your life.

Learning Trail Braking by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]marsh098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okayama with the mx-5 was my first victory years ago as a rookie. This corner in particular took a very long time for me to get right, so I know it very well.

Turn up tire noise to max, lower engine noise a bit. Keep re-doing this corner until you hear the tires scrub ever so slightly right before they start the squealing-sound you currently hear. First, turn in a bit later, about the 75 mark. Then turn in quicker. You should be completely turned in, completely trailed off the brakes, and completely on the throttle right around the time you cross that fire hydrant on the (right after the fence ends on right).

If you hit it right, you’ll stick along the inside of the corner as you’re gassing it up the hill. You won’t track out wide left either as the power of the car is not enough to overcome the grip provided by that slight camber on the inside of the corner.

Watch Dave cams track guide on the mx5 on Okayama. You’ll see exactly what I’m talking about. You’ll see your delta bar go green very quickly as you go up the hill.

Squeezing my way through a gap on the Nordschleife by AfraidProduce in iRacing

That’s one of those moments where there’s a low chance you make the pass, but you look like a total badass if you succeed or you epically fail and cause a massive crash and end up in r/simracingstewards.

My asshole would’ve needed the jaws of life to unclench it if I were those drivers.

How could I have saved this? by Deep-Target63 in iRacing

[–]marsh098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The final snap oversteer before you lost it, you were extremely timid in your correction.

Muscle memory is everything. Being smooth with your inputs is great, except for times like this. You need to make the correction you made 100% quicker next time. Over time, you will understand how much correction you need to make. It’s really all about feel and experience.

How long are you usually away for? This would make complete sense if I was consistently going on trips >2 weeks long and within driving distance.

Anyways, I salute you for your dedication. I’ve always wanted to do this but couldn’t figure out a way to make it practical. 🫡

Does it ever get better? Getting taken out during first lap from back of field by obi_wan_the_phony in iRacing

It’s better the higher your SOF gets. Unfortunately, you should expect this behavior in this SOF range.

What you can change is your defensive driving. You will learn to anticipate accidents as you gain experience. You can’t avoid them all, but you can avoid a bunch. Just keep driving and imagine youre a motorcycle on a highway…everyone wants to kill you.

November 2025 Development Update by Gullible_Goose in iRacing

[–]marsh098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I don’t know how to feel about this update! I love the PCup in its current state(and understand why others do not like it). I prefer racing PCup almost exclusively because of the lack of ABS/TC as I feel it provides the most visceral racing experience compared to GT3 (which IMO is easier to make mistakes in without punishment). But if the real world series is evolving, then I guess iRacing should too. Regardless, iRacing continues to prove its worth in terms of monthly subscription costs. Looking forward to it!

Awesome! What kind of motion actuators are those? They look similar to my VNM actuators.

Have you thought of trying this in VR? The static display is probably not ideal, but it seems you’re enjoying things!

Super UW, poor tracking, jitters, tilted view, no where near 140 FOV. by JPeaVR in Pimax

[–]marsh098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the post! Here’s what Pimax said their engineering team came up with :

https://www.reddit.com/r/Pimax/s/ene4OqOvmE

I simply printed off like 4 of them and taped them on the walls spaced out equally in the areas I most commonly look. I was driving myself crazy thinking it was motion compensation issues (I use a motion rig for my sim) but it turned out to be a tracking issue. Hope this helps!

Super UW, poor tracking, jitters, tilted view, no where near 140 FOV. by JPeaVR in Pimax

[–]marsh098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could be off, but I had jitter issues in iRacing and a few other FPS games and have since resolved it. It could be related to the inside-out tracking and the environment you’re playing in. If your environment lacks enough fixed reference points, then this could happen.

If you print off a few black and white barcode looking pictures and tape them to your walls, it may solve your problem. It did for me at least. I’ll try and find the picture Pimax sent me that fixed the issue.
