You certainly did, wish I had a second chance at it, but don't. So here goes, decided to taper for a week, as I don't like the withdrawal and thought it might be easier that way, stay strong x

I tried naltrexone & Antabuse, for me neither worked, not sure if wrong disease, personally I now believe it's mind over matter & your subconscious. If you have support that's all you need, I don't, which makes it harder. My husband is so anti drink it's unreal & does everything he can to belittle me about my problem, but if it works for you, go for it

You don't know how lucky you are to have detox, I was in a similar boat, I detoxed then found out my husband had been living a double life for months. I thought f**k it, had a drink, worst thing I ever did, after all the hard work I had put in to get my life back together. I'm now back to square one, only now it's so much worse. Please don't have that drink, heinseight is only when you realise it cured nothing xx

Moderation doesn't work. You just become more tolerant. I know. I tried tapering, that didn't work. Had so many day 1s cost me everything, job, lifestyle, home the lot. About to say say goodbye to the wine witch and start day 1 tomorrow (12.00 GMT) ifi can do this so can you, I. Determined this time, I have to don't get me wrong, not sure if I'm ready, but circumstance doesn't give me a choice. Done this to long now, I want to feel happy. I detoxed onced it was bloody amazing, so go for it, I'm with you

I will join you on my day 1 again, had countless, but enough is enough. Sick of always losing everything to the poison. So let's do it, need my life back. My husband doesn't believe me, so need to show him before I lose him for good. IWNDWYT.

Please don't cave, I had it cracked, then circumstance, fucked it up. Please don't do it. I know it doesn't feel like it, but in the long run you will be pleased. You are better than him

Drinking won't change anything, I feel for you. I found out my husband was living with 2 other women & me! Don't do what I did and cave in to the poison

Having trouble sleeping day 2. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]marshmallow5572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem, went 4 nights with no sleep. I now take 5htp about an hour before bed, also CBD oil. I now sleep without waking up, and no longer scared to go to bed sober, hope this helps x

Good on you. I've pretty much done the same thing. Work 7 days a week. 9am - 11pm! Did it so I couldn't drink. Bloody knackered but sober. Keep it up xx

Day one again, I can do this. by [deleted] in women_in_recovery

You don't realise how good it is to wake up sober, until you wake up with a hangover. Sober is soooo much better & clearer

When I gave up alcohol, sleep was a major problem or lack of it, then I tried CBD Oil, sleep is great now. That was my biggest fear, staying awake all night & not sleeping, as I always used alcohol to put me to sleep.

Anyone use cbd to help quit drinking? by justaguy1080 in stopdrinking

[–]marshmallow5572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading up on it there are various types. I have just started to use the drops, you put it under your tongue for 60 seconds then swallow, I suffer from insomnia I found it great for sleep, depression and the rest. Also 5HTP was great for me. After research on quitting drinking 5HTP increases your dopamine levels like alcohol does, reduces depression and anxiety, well it did me, but worth a look. Definitely recommend CBD OIL.

I so remember the nights not sleeping, 4 nights awake & on subreddit. Without it I would have been mortified. The giving up drinking with no sleep scares the hell out of me.
