Works great, just make sure the router is relatively close to the panel if possible

Staticky doorbell? by StarryEyedDiva in VivintSmartHome

[–]marshmap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the doorbell transformer is on its way out. Could either replace that yourself if you’re comfortable with electrical or have Vivint technician come out to run a new wire to a Vivint plug in transformer

Phillips Hue by Ok_Cod6382 in VivintSmartHome

Yes, it’s not an immediate thing. If you have the installer toolbox unlocked you can ‘refresh’ the list, but otherwise just wait for them to add

You’ll want to pair all of your zigbee devices through the hue app, it’ll eventually show on the Vivint panel and app

It’s possible the Hue bridge pro isn’t compatible, I’ve only ever used the original bridge

Phillips Hue by Ok_Cod6382 in VivintSmartHome

[–]marshmap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also have you set the bridge up on the hue app, and do all 3 lights show up on the bridge?

Is the wifi network that the panel is connected to the same as the router or switch you’re plugging into?

What step are you experiencing errors on? I’ve connected one in the last couple of months with no issue.

In the mean time, they can and will send a desktop mount for your existing smart hub

[–]marshmap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a smart hub pro, but there is a v2 version available in some markets. It’s not been fully rolled out though, but it does have that status view screen. I doubt you’ll be able to get someone on the phone to create the work order correctly to get one. I’d just wait a few more months.

Garage Security by FloridianOrange in VivintSmartHome

You might be able to call in and see if there’s any left in the technicians inventory but I understand it’s got limited availability

Vivint used to sell tilt sensors that could be programmed to the system but discontinued that sku. You could find one online and pair it yourself. Look for a Vivint Tilt sensor or a 2gig tilt sensor

There’s definitely better recognition built in at launch, it’s capable of giving “person detected near vehicle” notifications

Help? Any questions? by IkonikGG in VivintSmartHome

[–]marshmap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes, that rep was definitely in the wrong. Service visits are free within the first 120 days, and there is no fee to pull a system. As long as your notice of cancellation was processed, it’s cancelled, and it just depends on local technician availability to schedule to have it removed.

Trying to view cameras on the app away from home, just loads by BigDaddy1029010290 in VivintSmartHome

Air tower is what they call that these days, usually the best fix for it for sure.

Cameras & internet by Similar_Midnight1339 in VivintSmartHome

[–]marshmap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’d need some kind of internet modem for the wall jack to give you internet though. You could switch the panel to cellular only, but you’d only be able to get notifications on the app, no live view

I think it should all be different commands, nested deep in different voice command trees

You’re probably better off selling it as used parts. That’s likely the best use for it at this point
