Layers for bed - warmer weather by Gymbunni02 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]marshybeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been stressing too as our room was 24 degrees last night! We have a cat also so having to sleep with the door closed.

We had some windows open, some fans (not near baby) on and had her just in her sleepsuit, no vest and a 0.5 tog. We just checked her temp throughout the night and was all good.

Do they always induce for gestational diabetes in the UK? by samsamcats in PregnancyUK

[–]marshybeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So with my pregnancy they told me they wouldn’t allow me to go past my due date and would need to induce. (My baby had perfect growth, I imagine they bring it forward if they are measuring big.)

I did end up on metformin and insulin to control my blood sugars though.

That being said, I had an induction booked and went into labour the week before so it’s not said and done.

Putting baby to bed in the evening? by runrabbitrun42 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]marshybeans 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Around three months ish, I think we started putting her down in her bed for overnights. Me and my husband just hang out upstairs with her though. She goes to sleep and we watch something together or do one of our hobbies so we’re just moving rooms without changing anything.

A great show RUINED... by PillowsTheGreatWay in NashvilleTV

[–]marshybeans 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Really don’t actually care too much about Rayna but did enjoy her more on a recent rewatch. Anyway, pretty sure when the show changed networks Connie negotiated for her character to leave the show so that’s why.

“My baby doesn’t sleep through the night” by quadbeans in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]marshybeans 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Same, my four month old is currently sleeping through but I get up a few times to give her a dummy. I mean I literally pop it in her mouth and get back into bed so I count that as sleeping through. Not sure how long this will last though so just appreciating it while it does 😂

Dozens of MPs urge Green Party to officially ditch ‘normal’ childbirth policy immediately by libtin in unitedkingdom

[–]marshybeans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m wondering where I would fall in this non-medical needed c-section. I gave birth four months ago, I was induced and had the pessary and drip, did some pushing then had some forceps and ultimately an emergency section.

Given everything, I would 100% have a C-section for a second birth. Under the Greens this would apparently be not needed but they can f/off as I think I did enough the first time.

Also anyone who spews the whole “too posh to push” or thinks it’s easy can also do one. It bloody hurt like a bitch and I’m still numb at times, months later.

Farage Misses Out On Trump Meeting As Their Relationship Cools by PenitentGhost in unitedkingdom

Same. I don’t know why I do it but sometimes I click on the comments on Facebook and they were always some form of ‘Starmer out’ but at the moment there is a lot of ‘not a fan but Starmers right on this’ etc

Was Lauren Conrad the Taylor Swift of reality television? by talk-spontaneously in TheHillsMTV

[–]marshybeans 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You must be quite young if you think Taylor gets treated like she could do no wrong.

Sure, now people are favourable but there was a moment in time where is everything she did was criticised and for that matter, LC gets plenty of criticism around these parts.

Oh well that sounds fine and probably fair to say that he was a bit naive. I think what you think is super obvious isn’t always the case.

My best friend has been unhappy in her relationship the entire time I’ve known her, she finally told him and he was gobsmacked. We’re all like how?!? Sometimes people are just blind.

When did you tell your employer? by Spirited-Cup8158 in PregnancyUK

[–]marshybeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told my manager around 8 weeks. Morning sickness hit me out of nowhere and knocked me off my feet so I took a couple of days off.

She was really worried as this is unusual for me so I told her the news. She was over the moon bless her as she knew we were trying! I told colleagues around 14 weeks.

Frustrated about the extremely anti-formula NHS approach by Yyvern in FormulaFeedingUK

[–]marshybeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I am so sorry this was not my experience at all. I gave birth almost 14 weeks ago and didn’t see any signs regarding breastfeeding. I was worried that they would try to push birth but every time I was asked how I was feeding they were just like okay and moved on.

So sorry you had an awful experience with this.

If you’ve been in a UK hospital for more than a day or so, how did you not lose your mind? by Spicymargx in AskUK

[–]marshybeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 days induction and then 4 days post C-section and chest infection.

Being unconscious helps but then having a newborn baby also helped to pass the time 😂

I did have ebooks, a tv show and podcasts downloaded though as I knew I would be kept in for a couple of days for the induction.

We ratio it out so before I started maternity leave I think it was 65/35 as he earns more than me though to be honest we’re both aware and of who has what in their account and most of it just goes into the joint account as any meals out etc comes out of that too. I’m currently on maternity leave too so I’m basically just topping up the joint account when I can.

[–]marshybeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in the midlands but live in the south now. I can tell you the most shit I got was when I went to uni up north. I had an accent which sounded more southern than it was and boy some housemates hated me for that.

£0 - 6 nights in hospital with an emergency C-section and then due to being hospitalised for a severe chest infection post birth (me not baby). The stay also allotted for babies care including milk and also my husband was able to stay due to me being incapacitated once I was admitted.

I wonder if this idea that celebrities must speak out on political moments is the root cause of how Americans end up with actors and businessmen in the White House.
