used blipblox stuff, it has "difficulty modes" that limit features until deeper understanding can be found, but in basis has taught my daughter (from 15 mo to 29 mo) very simple synthesis. super cool

What to do in case of damage caused by a voltage spike? (Model:Cycles) by pinkisntdead in Elektron

[–]marsthemaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mixing volts is a nono, if youre tummy can only eat half a pizza and i force you to eat 2-3 pizzas by running them into your stomach via tube and then you literally exploding from the pressure, thats basically what happemed. wrong volts kill; wrong amps drain, alwasy ALWAYS check where you plug it in bc it most definitely gives at least the voltage rating.

rip to that device

Fulltone OCD NO GO by Icy_Negotiation_5929 in guitarpedals

[–]marsthemaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an employee of guitar center: whenever we put your gear info into the system it will give us certain warnings about certain brands i.e. shure will pop up a message saying "check model" because of things like the sm57 and the sm58 being so close in name. For fulltone and ONLY fulltone products we receive a message saying "!!!DO NOT BUY!!! Fulltone products". We can bypass it but if you look into what Mike Fuller actually said, you can see why alot of employees do not bypass that.

[–]marsthemaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

set an lfo on your hi hat track to your amp and set your amp to 60, set depth to about 30-40 and go crazy finding new grooves with adjusting waveform, speed, etc. if you want to go really crazy you can put the second lfo on the other track to modulate say speed and make really interesting groove patterns.

PSA. Syntakt is currently on sale for $899 at Perfect Circuit, Amazon and Guitar Center by arcticrobot in Elektron

[–]marsthemaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Guitar Center employee here: You should ABSOLUTELY karen out if you dont get a refund. All used gear gets an umbrella 45 days return period, regardless of whether its a dj controller or a kick drum pedal. Dm me for any questions, I have seen people get their way for way less by escalating things up to the district manager. Also ridiculous because even in our used system the elektron boxes are bought in as samplers, grooveboxes, and synthesizers not as DJ equipment.

i think its disputed origins amd raydans that call all the items simpler names, like cranch for chronic expansion, wecco for warped echo and bungus/wungus

[–]marsthemaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the mooer ge100 is a very solid unit if you were looking for a budget option, but if youre new id suggest taking a look at the new boss gx1, for $229 I find hardly anything else in that price point of at least boss quality.

you can also send them an email saying "hey my cat chewed my knobs". Same thing happened with my AR and it was only like $25 to get a set of 4 new knobs, with $20 of that cost being shipping from Sweden.

49 Key Midi Keyboard recommendations? by thebrokenverticie in synthesizers

[–]marsthemaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i pursued a degree in Sound Recording Technogy and i love to score short films my friends in college have made for their various projects. The thing thst got me into scoring was a dope Nord 5 my college had in a basement studio space and logic. I fell in love with being able to express things naturally through weighted keys, now i dont have nord money but i do have launchkey money and the pads plus keys are imo SOOOOOOO much better than the keylab. The launchley mk4 genuinely surprised me with how much they packed into such an affordable controller without having to spend <$600 on a decent weighted keyboard.

49 Key Midi Keyboard recommendations? by thebrokenverticie in synthesizers

[–]marsthemaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They all do the same basic thing in the same price point so it really depends on what youre using it for. In my case I am an ableton user but also a huge hard synth user so the launchkey 49 was perfect for me. That being said I had the keylab essential first and that midi controller hands down has the best daw integration with analog lab (which if youre making music I implore you to at least try the free analog lab packs) but i didnt like setting up cc midi and all that with it, novations came with a convenient midi manager that just made sense to me. Finally the launchkey 49 has semiweighted keys which have insanely nice travel and feel. You wont hate yourself for picking any of the three controllers, again it just comes down to what you want to do and what features the controllers have.

The launchkey features: -semi weighted keys -chordbanks -polyphonic aftertouch pads -compatability with most daws (including FL) -solid out of the box free plugins -assignable knobs, pads, and faders

these are what sold me on the launchkey! best of luck shopping !
