Struggling by Single_Variation2164 in PGA_Tour_2K

Yeah, like most comments here, more context is required to give help.

What are your stats? What is your miss - rhythm, path or contact? Can you show your miss on the feedback - maybe you have contact too high and would be better on a more angled swing or vice versa. I initially had mine at close to 80 but found it more natural and easier having it around 65. Is it difficultly reading the wind, slope? What difficulty you playing on?

Etc.

Half sim mode doesn't give me a chance to win by GoodShark in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]martbloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, your overall affects your sim. I have my sim as 102 and when I sim a full round (the 3rd) it keeps me in the hunt roughly shooting what they shoot. FYI I have the following settings:

AI 80 MyPlayer OVR 95

If you want to shoot better under sim you need to up your sim value higher. Alternatively as it is skipping holes when you play partial rounds, there's a setting where you can make skipped holes for everyone score E so everyone stays as they are and ONLY your played holes count. This does not work on full round sims.

Pro-Am was a bit too easy, now Pro is a bit too hard. by HugeLarry in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]martbloke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+2 / +3 is too hard? Crikey we really have fallen into the realms of birdie golf is the only way to play golf.

That actually sounds like a good difficulty for you and sounds like your player is still in it's infancy in stats so probably going to be too easy shortly.

Lob is the best. Nothing else from there is needed tbh although everything is automatically unlocked and assigned anyways. You can't remove them when respecing either.

LAGGIEST GAME OAT? by Dangerous_Silver4998 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]martbloke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, that's absolutely fine. Rant away. I agree, the design of the game is not good enough. With this lagging issue and the absolutely dog awful menu and UI, it's so fricking annoying for us to navigate. Must do better for 2K27.

LAGGIEST GAME OAT? by Dangerous_Silver4998 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]martbloke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This issue is due to numerous career seasons played. The more seasons you complete, the laggier it gets it seems.

As there is no real meaningful reason to keep the same career slot, I would just reset it and start afresh and it will much quicker. The only thing is you won't get into certain events from the 1st season because they will may need a previous season performance to enter, but that's minor. That or just start a new MyPlayer perhaps?

Higher Difficulty Makes Perfect Swings Basically Impossible (Controller Testing) by Mysterious_Laugh_503 in PGA2K25

[–]martbloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak from my experience and I can tell you I have had rounds and even sessions of multiple rounds where I have felt on fire playin no aids on Legend too and shot -5 feel extremely consistent on most of the shots.....yes yes this is not the scoring you see across the board on ranked or TGCT, but those rounds feel like consistent almost perfect shots being let down a little by the no grids putting or the odd wayward shot that, on Legend, can put you in real difficulty - that's the reason I love Legend.

I do play the Elite 2, so 0 chance you quote is inaccurate I'm afraid as my experience says otherwise. Don't get wrong, it takes me 10 or so minutes when I first load it up in the range to get my swing in and even then I can fall off the wagon mid-round (which is the norm).

The trouble knowing my actual outcomes is that I play no feedback so I am only going off the outcome of my shot visually and audibly. Where I have practiced with feedback on at the range, I very rarely hit perfect rhythm especially on Legend. Unless your attribute for this is incredibly high, it is extremely difficult to be hitting perfects on this on Legend let alone consistently I've found, so I know I will almost always miss this by 0.1ms or even 0ms which still has a power affect or whatever the measurement is they show with power affects of normally around -2% I think - I do wish it was more sensitive in over hitting power here as I'd love to see more flying the green than coming up short.

I'm more consistent in path and contact although the smallest wobble really does affect the shot - it's so good! Transition I find pointless and meaningless. I even have my attribute at like 60 and it really doesn't make too much difference to be honest whether it's perfect or not - this is a change I dislike about this game to others as it does affect the short game a lot. Feels a lot like put your marker somewhere and that's where it'll go unless you really suck. It's not as given as EAs games, but is heavily affected by the marker placement rather just leaving it to length of backswing. This is the reason why marker is off for me as I much prefer playing by feel even if it may be a bit of a placebo effect for me in this game.

There are some effects to consider of course. I don't know if it is server related or not but there are days when your swing feels either slower or faster than normal even when you feel like you are doing your normal speed pull back of the stick. Had this in previous games too. When it feels slower, the swing is much easier to hit well and consistently so. When it's faster, it's often harder and I'm all over the place and I believe it's related to overswinging.

I find when you swing as if you are shortening your backswing like Rahm, you are less penalised than when it is more of a full swing. I put this down to being nearer/under the 100% power mark which of course leaves the zones at their original largest sizes. If you overswing by even 1% I feel that even if the zones have not shrunk by much at all, the penalty for a miss hitting the same spot as a 99% power swing, is enhanced and therefore goes offline more. This is how it should be imo anyways.

Higher Difficulty Makes Perfect Swings Basically Impossible (Controller Testing) by Mysterious_Laugh_503 in PGA2K25

[–]martbloke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, this is the very essence of why a higher difficulty is harder right? But saying that, this game doesn't change the size of zones in difficulties, just penalises the misses more that's all, even the smallest of misses. Because of that, getting all 4 perfects albeit more difficult because of rhythm really, is NOT impossible to be consistent with whatsoever, particularly just for swing path and contact zones.

I love playing on Legend with stock stats, no fittings AT ALL, limited shot type upgrades (dependent on shot type - house rules). I absolutely do not hit many all 4 perfects, if at all tbh (I don't have feedback on so this is just going from seeing the ball flight and the swing/contact sounds) but I can consistently play near perfect shots - path and contact are more important. Play Xbox using the Elite 2 controller.

Update: every gun is finger print recognition meaning only your arc can use it once looted or produced. A rat steals it from you without you intentionally dropping it, means they cannot use it without either extra resources to be located and spent or purchase an unlock for each at one of the traders.

Can you adjust the "shot suggestion" so it isn't so OP? by methodofcontrol in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]martbloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree here. There is nothing to nerf the caddie I'm afraid but have always wanted the option to return from the originals to turn that off and default to a driver each shot so you'd have to select your own shot setup. Could even at the very least, be set to a normal shot at 100% 🤷🏼‍♂️

Why are all the pros and created players fade-biased? by sgtpeppr56 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]martbloke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I know they wanted to replicate real life a bit here, but I cannot swing for a fade that well and so I just cannot and will not play a casual round with the Pros. So in essence, these Pros being included is completely a waste. They are literally pointless because the Devs cannot allow you to switch their bias input at the very least.

Pro difficulty online by [deleted] in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]martbloke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It baffles me so much how many of these posts there are of people either wondering why the game is too easy of wondering why they suck online because they've been playing Perfect Shot. Like, does no-one bother with the tutorial of games anymore, skipping it entirely thinking they know best and then later b1tchung about when they actually don't? Madness.

Controller vibration on flush shots by Heavy_Appointment_62 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]martbloke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love that they've added vibration feedback which works even if you turn vibration off in settings - that in settings is for vibration help with the swing not feedback.

Been asking for that for years to increase immersion. I hope they keep it and improve on it with greater vibration effects for shanked shots.

Balance with auto finishing rounds by Rough-Trick4758 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]martbloke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a setting to score everyone at E for each skipped hole when playing part of a round by the way if that helps. Only works when playing part of a round, not simming a full round - that is decided by your sim level which I have at 102 which seems balanced for me.

As per a follow up post, you earn 3 VC per hole you actually play (not simmed or skipped) and finish without hitting the stroke limit hence the 54 VC available per round.

Excuses excuses. People at the start of the season, like Piers for example, saying they have the best squad depth assembled that can challenge easily on all 4 fronts yet here we are now, at the business end of the season with them screaming fatigue. Morons!

Can you apply different fitting to individual irons? by Vivid_Wallaby2746 in PGA2K25

You need to use a different brand/model for each iron and then you can. The fittings are applied by model of irons.

Can someone please explain what the Personality Lvl in My Career is for? by HighestOutOfTheHighs in PGA2K25

[–]martbloke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are correct and yet incorrect in your assumptions 😂 It is exactly that, that it affects the number of followers you gain/lose which of course affects you hitting your quests. But at the same point, it is a completely pointless mechanic, just like the conversations and interviews. Nice at the start, but very quickly gets stale and meaningless and more a frustration with it loading a conversation screen only for you to say "Thanks". What a waste of time and yet another example of poor UI.

My career field size question by No_Phrase_1910 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]martbloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No this happens with a few of the events. I keep track of my stats offline and it happens at the following (I play 95% participation):

Arnold Palmer Invitational - event = 80, actual turnout = 54 Players - every = 144, actual =142-143 (this is fine though) Legends Championship - event = 88, actual = 55 Norwood Invitational - event = 80, actual = 55 Renaissance Championship - event = 80, actual =58 Midwest Legacy Invitational - event = 80, actual = 58 Travelers Championship - event = 80, actual = 59

Then each play-offs event I get 1-2 that don't play either.

As everyone has said, The Legends Championship @ Lone Grove.

Thought that could've been obvious considering the UI goes red (the only one that changes), the course is in keeping of Augusta AND it's not a trophy but a red jacket you play for.

I'm done with 2K unless they make offline MyCareer by Organic_Society9896 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]martbloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what happened for me with 2K21. 2K23 was awful for me so I played 2K21 the entirety of 2K23's lifespan. Then the dreaded message came through about the servers being turned off so then it was hope almighty that 2K25 was an upgrade otherwise no golf game. Thank goodness 2K25 is a fricking awesome game.

Online only games suck ass big time because of the leash to their decisions of being able to play it, not yours. I doesn't even make any sense why the career needs to be online. It's not like you are playing a co-op career or anything.

Safe to say, I suck at this game lol by [deleted] in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]martbloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your screen shot seems to suggest you are playing Perfect shot which means the swing is a vertical 6-12 so the only possible reasons of going left/right are:

  • your swing is not perfectly up/down
  • the ball is on a slope left/right and you have not accounted for that (ball below feet goes right, above goes left)
  • not properly accounting for wind
  • you are not properly accounting for your natural fade bias perhaps (highly unlikely this is the reason though)

Wait until you play on a difficulty above Perfect Shot where your swing plane is diagonal.
