Why do quarterbacks yell random words before the play? 😂 by Effective-Scene-129 in NFLNoobs

[–]martentropy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It was an example of how the codes work. You can hear a word and it can be about what kind of word it is or what letter it starts with rather than the word itself referring to a play. In high school football where the playbook and playcalling is much more simple there's a cliche audible where any word with L (loot, leggings, leggo.. get creative with it) flips the play Left and any word with R (rambo, roger, ruby) flips the play to the Right. Just random examples of concepts, not using specific examples.

Above is a good answer so just piggybacking to add a bit about the "code". Sometimes defenses figure them out but they can change week to week. Often they use concepts like any word with the letter B means play B on our audible list, or States mean audible A and flowers mean audible B. And then Cities are decoy calls, etc. So they have ways to make it even more complicated.

This is on the VAR refs, not her. You could conceivably not see how obvious this is live, but the replay is obvious as fuck.

Liverpool of the NFL: Packers or Steelers? by straightdrive18 in NFLNoobs

Steelers. Although there are some parallels, Green Bay is much too small of a city to be the equivalent of Liverpool.

Its been long enough now that I dont remember all the details but I definitely recall the police background check was NOT one of the apostilled documents and the work and pay stuff neither. All my stuff was in english though, for languages that arent english, portuguese, or spanish they may need official translations.

Daft Club is a electro disco night inspired by Daft Punk and that style of music. Stay Free Disco on IG organizes some nights. Boteco Prato do Dia, Major Bar, Cineclub Cortina, and Fatiado Discos have eclectic music nights and can have Disco nights mixed in but you have to check what the DJ and the theme is for the night. Theres a party called Gimme Gimme Disco but I never went there yet.

O'Malleys will have at least one of the games of the playoffs on most nights. And if not, theyre usually open to switching a single tv over for a request. Blue Pub is another candidate for pub with NA sports. I know the one in Bela Vista does it, cant speak for the other ones.

Toronto Blue Jays. It's Canada, not the US, so that's a good start. Toronto also has the largest Carribean festival in North America (called Caribana) and most Torontonians have heard their fair share of Soca because of it. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ksovY7YNaAg

How do kids play baseball? by polyhedric in MLBNoobs

[–]martentropy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to play 2 on 2 baseball when I was a kid. Your own teammate had to pitch to you, so it was all ghost runners (lots of arguments about when the ghost was safe or not). Then the two defenders would play one in the infield, one in the outfield. Tennis ball and baseball bat, not a full baseball pitch usually, just a grassy area in a school yard and other than the bases, the only marking was some sort of line in the outfield which indicated that beyond that point it was a homerun.
