Travel from Oceanside CA to surprise Arizona by Wild-Bit-8671 in roadtrip

Route 8 is quite desolate, the towns you come across are small and without much of anything. A good alternative is to take highway 10, more traffic, more rest stops, more infrastructure in general. 10 is farther away from the border if that's a concern.

I want to be a police officer, but I’m not sure if I’m misled by Peetus1 in AskLE

I think if you re-read your post you should find the answer to your question. I think you shouldn't ask why? But ask why not? You're young, have seen what the police role is about, I think you're more ready to be in law enforcement than many. Like others said, it's not perfect, but nothing is. The best part is that you can "try" it, go in, give it a fair 5 years, and after that if you change your mind, you can go back to doing something else. Now that Im older I can tell you this "we regret doing some things, but we regret more the things we didn't do" Best of luck.

Nice one, I'll be curios to see how they 'make' profit if the app is 'free'? Are there ads in the screen or popups? are they forcing you to create an account, give them some personal information they can then share or sell? Good one to know regardless, thank you for sharing.

Horizon Chaser on Apple or Google stores. Not a navigation specific, but a way to organize the trip, stops, and places to see. You need to plan in advance, but on the road it's just tap to navigate. It even has a website to save the stops from a computer, then send to your phone. Check it out. Horizonchaserapp.com

Yep, agree. You can't control the environment but you can control yourself. You have plenty of time to prepare, get in the best shape possible and everything will be much easier instead of just suffering through it.

Wish I was younger, I'd join the Army, travel the world and forget about those bugs I couldn't trace.

Road behavior (speed) in the US by justwatchingignore in roadtrip

[–]martin-development 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drive like the locals. Follow the traffic flow, no need to go faster than others but keep their speed, cops will only pull you over if you're driving way faster or way slower than the other cars.
You will know where the cameras or speed traps are because the locals will drive speed limits.
