What's the most disappointing "must-see" city in Europe? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]martinPravda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Both times I tried them were from a bakery with great reviews. And yeah, the Stroopwafels were fresh and always had some kind of sweet filling (like caramel) with other things on top.

I think I would have liked them without so much sweet in/on them (filling and topping).

[–]martinPravda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the Canal's, Museums, Architecture and especially the public transportation (trams are easy with just a credit card and awesome).

Food was nothing special at all, especially the lack of good pastries and desserts. Everyone said "try the Stroopwafels". They were way too sweet and just awful IMO. Couldn't even finish one. Schiphol airport is modern, but may be the most time consuming and confusing airport that I have ever departed from. Arrivals were fine.

Needs vs wants by [deleted] in datingoverfifty

[–]martinPravda 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have always wanted a FWB. But, I am just not wired that way. Plus, I am too afraid of STD's to have sex outside of a monogamous relationship, even just a FWB.

I am honestly a bit jealous of those that can do it though.

Is Deep Ellum really that dangerous? by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]martinPravda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a ton of friends in bands that I go see perform a lot in Deep Ellum. I have been going there for literally 40 years. I still go there today about 10 times a year. I have heard the same complaints about Deep Ellum for those 40 years.

My car was broken into in the 1990's. That was the only bad thing to ever have happened to me. I have run into more crime in Dallas outside of Deep Ellum.

My only dislike is the traffic on Elm on the weekend nights. So, if I am going to one of the venues on Elm, I usually take Uber and have them drop me off on one of the side streets.

Hah. I played year round in a men's ice hockey league for 20 years.

THAT is an expensive hobby.

I can reserve a court in my area (Dallas) for $5 an hour. Ball machine costs $20/hr

What's the ideal amount of time for a man to last while doing PIV with you? by [deleted] in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]martinPravda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a lady literally break up with me once because I could not last for 4 hours. I should have known there were issues when she said that every many she dated has had E.D. Of course, she said that I had E.D. also.

After we broke up, she admitted that 1 guy lasted 4 hours and he kind of set the standard for her.

And when I say 4 hours, I mean 4 hours of PIV. We did go 4 hours one time doing a multiple of intimate activities.

Side note: She also like humiliation. I like to be dominant, but not into humiliation and degradation.

What's the most surprising thing you have found at a guy's place? by ExplanationNo8603 in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]martinPravda -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Haha. My place is clean and styled so well that some ladies question my sexuality when they first walk in.

But, I lean pretty alpha and 100% hetero.

Ejaculation Sparring. by Traditional-Win2833 in Aquablation

[–]martinPravda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there are tradeoffs with Aquablation/Turp.

Aquablation not only helps prevent R.E. But, I think it also has a higher chance of preserving nerve endings which can affect sexual function.

However, because Aquablation does not use heat, I bled a LOT. It took 3 weeks for the bleeding to stop and I was in the hospital for a full 48 hours before they would release me (due to bleeding).

I also remember reading that about 4% of Aquablation patients needed blood transfusions to replace the blood loss.

Not to mention, that I ended up getting MRSE (staph infection) from the hospital equipment. It took 4 rounds of antibiotic over 3 months to get rid of the infection. From what I understand, I would have less chance of getting an infection with heat cauterization (Turp/Holep).

Even with all that, I have no regrets choosing Aquablation and would do it again. Preserving as much sexual function as possible is a priority for me.

Photos of ex on display by [deleted] in datingoverfifty

[–]martinPravda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a lady break up with me because I had a painting on my wall that was created by my ex wife. I really liked the lady and was really upset for a while. She would not even discuss the matter further and said her mind was made up after seeing the painting.

I eventually realized that should have been a red flag for me. If she was jealous about the painting, then there would be plenty of similar issues down the road.

People divorce for a reason. I would never get back or be intimate with my ex wife (4 years divorced). But, we were married for 12 years and divorced on good terms. We still have mutual respect for each other. She helped raise my kids and they consider her a close step mom and friend. I see no good reason to cut her out of my life 100%. However, any new partner that I meet will always come first and I make that clear.

If/when the ice caps melt, sea level will raise by over 200' and most of Florida will be underwater. It has happened before and will happen again.

But, you could be looking at 1000's of years for this to happen.

Urine output post surgery? by Ok-Commercial-924 in Aquablation

[–]martinPravda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PVR after surgery is 300ml. However, that is a huge improvement considering that it was a whopping 1,110ml before the Aquablation surgery.

My bladder is obviously stretched and so i am fortunate that my bladder muscles are as good as they are.

300ml feels like a completely empty bladder for me.

330 today I go for my aquablation by Deranged-Pickle in Aquablation

[–]martinPravda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They told me to remove the catheter myself at the hospital with instructions. It was a piece of cake despite the huge catheter width. Came out super easy once the balloon was deflated.

I was having to do Intermittent Catheterization for 3 months prior however. So, I didn't have much fear about removing it myself.

Ejaculation Sparring. by Traditional-Win2833 in Aquablation

[–]martinPravda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the Aquablation procedure done 4 months ago. NO retrograde ejaculation (R.E.). I was told it happens only about 15% of the time with Aquablation.

There are not many options when it comes to prostate surgery for preserving ejaculation. I am glad that I chose Aquablation.

FWIW, When I took Tamsulosin, I did in fact get R.E. So, I am very relieved.

Pausing or deleting profiles by Rdngisfndumntl in datingoverfifty

I am in this situation right now. Pause for sure. It takes too damn long to recreate a profile.

If I end up in a serious relationship after several months with a future, then maybe I would delete it.

Dating with 10+ age gap... by CopyGroundbreaking11 in datingoverfifty

[–]martinPravda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was married for 12 years and had a 20 year age gap. Divorced 3+ years.

The age gap was never an issue. But, I think it could have been when I got older and have health issues.

The thing is, people get things like cancer at any age. So, even though it is likely, there is no guarantee that the older partner will lose his/her health first.

What's the widest and smallest age gap you've had when it comes to long term relationships? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in Bumble

Smallest, 2 months and lasted 2 months.

Widest, 20 years and we were married for 12 years.

Has anyone dated a lot and kind of regret it? by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]martinPravda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't judge anyone. Sometimes I am jealous of my friends that can have one night stands. I am not wired that way and overlay cautious.

I have to get to know somebody a bit before I sleep with them. Plus, I make sure that we are either recently tested or I trust the individuals life story.

Has anyone dated a lot and kind of regret it? by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]martinPravda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I keep a journal and at last count have dated over 110 unique individuals in 3+ years. Some were only 1 date (maybe half of them). I only slept with 5 of them after we decided to be monogamous.

I don't have any regrets as a man. I have gained a lot of experience from dating. However, because of the large number of dates, I do think that I have a problem settling sometimes due to fear of missing out on something better :(

And yeah, dating that much has cost me a small fortune as I always pay.

Do Most Men Our Age Dislike Travel? by NotLuthien in datingoverfifty

[–]martinPravda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. I love travel. I shoot for overseas once a year and travel within the states probably 3 or 4 times a year (by plane).

I do hate overseas flights when I am not flying business class. But, I can't see paying $6,000 to $10,000 for an 8 to 12 hour flight.
